Google was my friend once again as I was unfamiliar with the term 'with agency'. Yes, those tags would work.

For books with multiple editions released on the same day, whether it is the initial publication date or just the earliest dated Kindle edition, you can use any of those page counts.

Do not use the Amazon page count unless there is not a Kindle page count listed on GR.

MountainKat | 31770 comments 🌹The Bachelor Team Challenge - Round 7🌹
🌹Theme - Seven Year Itch🌹

Date 1 - B - TASK ANNOUNCEMENT

B is for Bitch
- Read a book with a kick-ass heroine.

To qualify for this task, the book needs to feature a strong female leading character. Qualification can come from the title, precis, tags or lists - think characters such as Kate Daniels, Charley Davidson, Cat Crawfield or Eve Dallas. These are examples ONLY, books with these characters would still need to qualify with title, precis, tags or lists. Books without a 'heroine' can qualify if they are MPG MM Romance (combined only, not separated) AND have a female character important enough to the story to be mentioned in the precis.

Remember books must be 90 pages (first edition English language Kindle) and MPG Romance!!

You have until Wednesday, December 22 @ Midnight US EDT to post your completion(s).

Please ensure that your completion post conforms to message #3 of your team thread. If you complete more than one book for the date task, be sure to include that information in your completion post. Remember no discussion in your completion posts!

MountainKat | 31770 comments 🌹The Bachelor Team Challenge - Round 7🌹
🌹Theme - Seven Year Itch🌹

Date 1 - B - Tasks Qualifications:

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.

Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!

You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.

B is for Bad - Read a book with an average GR rating under 4.0.

To qualify for this task, the average rating for your selected book needs to be under 4.0. This information can be found on the main book page under the title. Please include the average rating in your completion post. If the average rating is likely to change over the course of the date, i.e. the book is new or has few ratings, it might be advisable to take a screen shot. Also, if your rating is significantly higher than the average, perhaps wait to rate the book until after the date ends.

B is for Bigfoot - Read a book with a mythical character - dragon, gryphon, unicorn etc.

To qualify, your book needs to include something in the title, precis, list or tags that indicates the book contains a mythical character or creature. As examples, characters such as dragons, gryphons, unicorns, vampires, mermaids, fairies, were-creatures or bigfoot would qualify.

B is for Bitch - Read a book with a kick-ass heroine

To qualify for this task, the book needs to feature a strong female leading character. Qualification can come from the title, precis, tags or lists - think characters such as Kate Daniels, Charley Davidson, Cat Crawfield or Eve Dallas. These are examples ONLY, books with these characters would still need to qualify with title, precis, tags or lists. Books without a 'heroine' can qualify if they are MPG MM Romance (combined only, not separated) AND have a female character important enough to the story to be mentioned in the precis.

B is for Butterfly - Read a book initially published in a spring month.

To qualify, the selected book needs to be initially published in a spring month - March, April, May or June of any year. Make sure you use the initial publication date! If there is a date at the top of the editions page - USE IT! Otherwise, I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification.

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 2042 comments OK Kat for the books in the metahuman files they aren't in the precis, but in the metadata female character are listed:
ASIN B06VY2PV5M
Edition Language English
Series Metahuman Files #1
CharactersCapt. Jamie Callahan, Staff Sergeant Kyle Brannigan, Annabelle Brown, Richard Callahan, Madison Chan...more

Would that work for the bitch category? The metadata is from In the Wreckage

No sorry, the female character has to be important enough to the story to be in the precis.

While I suspect some, if not many of the books on that list would qualify, the list itself would not. I just went through the first few pages of tags on the first book and didn't see anything that would work.

message 91: by MN Lisa (new)

MN Lisa (lisa713mn) | 1526 comments Ok. I've read my first book for the date. Now other books that I want to read for the date have to match what was called? Or can it be anything within the 4 options for the date?

So I can read a B is for Bad on a book that has less than 4.00 Rating even if it doesn't qualify for B is for Bitch?

It needs to either be a scavenger and meet all 4 criteria or just the theme that was called which is B for Bitch. Hope this helps

That does. Thanks!

message 94: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31770 comments Thanks Hazel! Yes, for books to count for this date they need to meet the qualification for the called task - B is for Bitch.

message 95: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31770 comments Naomi wrote: "Would sassy-heroines tag work?"

Perhaps, in context. I would need to see the book to be sure. I can't just give a blanket yes to that one.

message 96: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31770 comments OK, you all are reading too much! Am I the only one desperately trying to get everything done before the holidays?!

I am slowly working my way through the SH claims and will then get to the team threads. Just a warning though, we are insanely busy for the next 10 days! All good things, but my computer (and reading) time is limited. I will do my best to get current and stay that way before the date ends, but I make no promises.

I'm not hosting this year and I was lazy with my gifts 😂 Subscription boxes and gift cards.

I can ease up on my reading the 23rd and the 24th as I have to cook and bake as that was the price for not hosting my circus we loving call an extended family. After noon on the 25th - all bets are off. I have two home bound kids. I need my books!

message 99: by Truitt_T (new)

Truitt_T | 805 comments Sorry about all the reading MKat, lol.

I've got a question I don't recall seeing asked, but if someone already has, my apologies in advance.

Do ghosts work for mythical character? There are ghosts in some mythonogies - there even an Encyclopedia of Spirits and Ghosts in World Mythology. What do you think?

Thanks!

MountainKat | 31770 comments Karen ♐ wrote: "Will an enemies to lovers book work? It also has a sassy heroine tag - Come Again (Big Rock, #7) by Lauren Blakely"

Enemies to lovers will not work for this task. Sassy is iffy and would need to be indicated by the precis or other tags. I just don't think this book fits the task - though I really need to get it on my shelves! Sorry.
