Sarah, try adding more plot details to the header/ topic title "YA Historical Fiction..." You can copy from what you've already written in the comments. Someone is more likely to recognize your book. If you would like help with this, just post a new comment.

"Two days later in addition to nursing duties she was given supervision over supplies, to report directly to the Matron.
All the training in the shop, her stock management and book-keeping skills, were utilized. These, combined with her knowledge of the wards, helped Maggie overhaul the supply system."
I want to so the total had some reference to time or youth.
It was sent during World War I. The cover may have had a description of some thing like six youth only five make it back.
Of the characters that the book is focused on, they do all end up being involved in the war in someway or another. At least one is a nurse. I specifically remember a scene in which one of them is helping out in the infirmary or hospital, and goes to find a type of blood tube perhaps and they are all expired and she throws them and smashes them and the supervisor comes and says why are you doing such a wasteful thing and she says we couldn’t have used them anyway. She then says that she thinks that she can apply lessons that she learned in inventory in stock management from working at her parents shop and her hometown to the hospitals to make sure that they always had things in supply.
Another individual may have objected to the war or been a pacifist initially but eventually did join (drafted? Or just treated very poorly?) he ended up being very good at managing soldiers and perhaps strategy, and he kept getting promoted but then he also kept having mental breakdowns due to the stress so they kept sending him back-and-forth on the lines. At least one was in the trenches and I’m sure at least one of the characters died.
