I finally started my second book for this topic, and decided to pair Mystic River with Long Bright River. These books have a lot in common, in a "two sides of the same coin" kind of way.
For this prompt, I read White Teeth by Zadie Smith and White Fang by Jack London. Too bad synonyms weren't a part of the prompt.I'd recommend Little Fires Everywhere and The Little Prince,
The God of Small Things and Things Fall Apart,
The Book Thief and The Book of Night Women

The Awakening by [author:Nor..."
Spooky list! :)
I read For Better and Worse by Margot Hunt and For Better or Worse by Lauren Layne. I recommend It Happened One Wedding and It Happened One Autumn.
I read The Second Life of Ava Rivers and The Candid Life of Meena Dave. The first was a pretty good YA and the second was an excellent novel was an intriguing mystery, great characters, a sweet romance, and a cute dog.Fans of cozy mysteries would enjoy two of Nancy Atherton's Aunt Dimity mysteries (Aunt Dimity is in all of the titles of this long-running series).
Another interesting pairing is the classic Sense and Sensibility with the modern Incense and Sensibility.
Another easy one as I tend to get into the flow of a series and read a number of them at once. In this case I have chosen two of the comedy books by P.G. Wodehouse.

I read Labours of Love: The Crisis of Care by Madeleine Bunting and Love & Care by Shaun Deeney. The first book was on my TBR list and was a collection of essays on social/medical care in the UK. The author talked to doctors, nurses, care workers, care home owners, those caring at home - the book shows how the job of caring is continually handicapped by lack of funding and more and more regulation. Despite this, acts of kindness by many individuals shine through.
My second book was a personal account by a son of the experience of caring for his mother, who has Parkinson's induced dementia at home. He had the help of many care workers, but it was both a loving and an isolating experience, The book was honest and realistic, and at times deeply moving.
I chose two poetry collections for this pair of prompts: Call Us What We Carry (by Amanda Gorman) and Don't Call Us Dead (by Danez Smith). I was struck by the symmetry of the titles and it worked out. I enjoyed both collections, but I liked Gorman's better.
Nicola wrote: "Another easy one as I tend to get into the flow of a series and read a number of them at once. In this case I have chosen two of the comedy books by P.G. Wodehouse."I also chose two Wodehouse books. He is just delightfully goofy, and his dry British humor gets me everytime. I can't help but smile while I am reading his books. They are such a pleasant distraction for me.
What are you reading for this prompt? I have read Trouble in Nuala by Harriet SteelI will add the other book later
The other book for this prompt was The Trouble Makers by Celia Fremlin
I went with Red for this prompt. All Systems Red
Ruby Red
Red Queen
Red, White & Royal Blue
The Red Tent
Red Rising
The Red Badge of Courage
Red Sister
The Girl Behind the Red Rope
I wasn't sure what to chose, cats were a possibility and then I read Val McDermid's Northanger Abbey which I really enjoyed, it's set in Scotland - Edinburgh - during the festival and it just felt like a great summer read. So I followed it up with the original by Jane Austen Northanger Abbey which I'd not read since we read it in my English class when I was 12. I think on the whole I enjoyed Val McDermid's version more.

Oh! That is pretty awesome matching! I was proud of my two matching with just one extra s in the second one, but you did perfect!

I read The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin and The Cutting Season by Attica Locke. I had lots of options for this prompt and it was fun narrowing down what to pick up.
I'm reading books with "house" in the titleThe Round House
The House in the Cerulean Sea house LGBT romance
The Glass House house, gothic, glass
The Dutch House
I read My Brilliant Life and My Brilliant Friend. The first book is translated form Korean and the second from Italian. I loved both of them!
I read A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara and I am reading now Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker by A'Lelia Perry Bundles
The word fall was more common in titles than I had first thought. In the end, I read Birds in Fall by Brad Kessler, loosely based on the aftermath of the 1998 Swiss Air 111 disaster and Lean Fall Stand by Jon McGregor, an Antarctica expedition guide's road to recovery following a stroke. Grief and sadness are at the forefront here, and both stories unsurprisingly share a meditative quality on life and death.
I went through my TBR at the being on the year and chose the word "Woman". I later modified it to be "Women" as it fit the titles I had better. Both of the books had similar themes, not just titles. They both were about forgiveness, and the strength of generations of women.
When Women Were Dragons
The Island of Sea Women
I had such a great plan of complete match except an s, but was falling behind on the challenge and the first book of the match was... a challenge. So noticing that my GR currently reading had two books that worked, I switched to Over My Dead Body: Unearthing the Hidden History of America’s Cemeteries and The Dead Romantics
I chose The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James and Turtles All the Way Down by John Green.I really like this prompt and could spend all day making pairs! But I'll restrain myself and just suggest:
A Monster Calls and Sweep: The Story of a Girl and Her Monster
A Darker Shade of Magic and The Colour of Magic
Exit Strategy and Exit Strategy

Similar but different. Both involved travel. One was fiction, one memoir. I recommend both.
