I noticed a book not too long ago with a reflected image on the cover and now I can't remember which one it was! Aha! Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel García Márquez! Not a book I enjoyed reading, but it fulfills the prompt!

Popsugar lists Trick Mirror: Reflections on Self-Delusion by Jia Tolentino.

Listopia is here

Charlsa (cjbookjunkie) | 195 comments The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis works here, and I'm re-reading The Chronciles of Narnia in 2022.

Sarah | 263 comments The Book of Accidents has a reflected image on the cover.

message 7: by Emily (new)

Emily Murray (emlikesbooks) | 10 comments The Mirror Season by Anna-Marie McLemore could work for the title version of the prompt!

message 8: by Conny (new)

Conny | 145 comments Mirror Image by Sandra Brown (romantic suspense) used to be a favorite of mine. It was one of her first, I believe, so it should be easy to come by in a library or thrift store.

message 10: by Heather L (new)

Heather L (wordtrix) | 780 comments The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side by Agatha Christie is a good one here.

message 11: by Aleksandra (new)

Aleksandra | 19 comments It might be a stretch but the Alma Classics editions of Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott are supposed to be reflections of the other. I think it can work in this context.

message 13: by Milena (new)

Milena (milenas) | 1198 comments I think I will read The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel

message 14: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (debzanne) | 165 comments The Disney twisted tale for Mulan, Reflection has a mirror image on some of the covers. In that same thread, there is also Mirror, Mirror, which is a twisted tale about Snow White.

message 15: by Brooke (new)

Brooke (thecovercontessa) | 7 comments Pivot Point (Pivot Point, #1) by Kasie West and it's sequel Split Second (Pivot Point, #2) by Kasie West would work

message 16: by Erica (new)

Erica | 1255 comments Would The Vanishing Half count?
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

Also book 10 of Seanan McGuire's Incryptid series works. Calculated Risks (InCryptid, #10) by Seanan McGuire

message 17: by Britany (new)

Britany | 1694 comments Just heard about two that come out in 2022 on All The Books podcast that would work:

Man, Fuck This House by Brian Asman & Don't Say We Didn't Warn You by Ariel Delgado Dixon

CrystalIsReading on StoryGraph (crystalsea24) | 57 comments scrolling through my e-reader, Arctic Heat and Veritas: A Harvard Professor, a Con Man and the Gospel of Jesus's Wife both have reflections in water on the covers. I'm also wondering if I could stretch it and use The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water, since the title is about reflections, if not overtly a mirror.

message 19: by Rachael (new)

Rachael | 136 comments They Do It with Mirrors by Agatha Christie is another fun one (and one of only 2.5 that I figured out myself!)

message 20: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer T. (jent998) | 231 comments I have an advanced copy of this one, think I’m going with it.

The Replacement Wife

Jen W. (piratenami) | 517 comments The Echo Wife works for reflected cover:
The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey

A Mirror Mended is a book 2, but it would work for mirror in the title. (As a bonus, book 1, A Spindle Splintered, would work for a couple of different prompts: parallel worlds, or a book short enough to read in one sitting since it's a novella.)

message 22: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachrenk) | 16 comments When the Stars Go Dark has a mirror image on the cover. I think I'm going with A History of Wild Places.

message 23: by Joshua (new)

Joshua (hitthefunkybeats) | 126 comments It looks like The Dark Tide's moons are reflected on the cover, so here's an option!

message 24: by Tassara (new)

Tassara (tassara_txt) | 13 comments i'll be going with The Push by Ashley Audrain by Ashley Audrain. A bit of an abstract interpretation, but I think it works. another abstract pick would be Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley by Angeline Boulley.

message 25: by Timberly (new)

Timberly | 1 comments I think I'm going to with the poetry collection Honey Month for this one! Honey Month by Sadie Shorr-Parks
Does anyone know a poetry collection that would work for this prompt?

message 28: by Dana (new)

Dana Cristiana (silvermoon1923) Possibilities:

The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey
Layla by Colleen Hoover
The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side by Agatha Christie
They Do It with Mirrors by Agatha Christie
A History of Wild Places by Shea Ernshaw
The Lying Game by Sara Shepard
Every Last Secret by A.R. Torre
Mirror Mirror by Cara Delevingne

Christine H | 496 comments I just finished Man, Fuck This House by Brian Asman and it was a fun ride. Certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea, and the editing has some serious errors, but an enjoyably unique and weird take on the haunted house tale.

Plus it's available on Kindle Unlimited so you can try it with no risk if you have a subscription.

message 30: by Ron (new)

Ron | 2708 comments I just discovered a new book that I'm contemplating. I love poetry and this one came up on a NY Times find:

A Symmetry: Poems

I think it would fit because the words 'A Symmetry' can be read like a mirror.

message 31: by Josie (new)

Josie Lacey | 82 comments I think I might use Searching for Sylvie Lee: a novel for this prompt. The cover is a reflection in water.

Reflection in the sunglasses on the cover.

Laurii | 8 comments Kristin wrote: "Thoughts on Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson Reflection in the sunglasses on the cover."

Kristin, I would count that- it's a reflected image.

I think I'm going to read
The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer
You can see their reflections in the glass behind them.

Or maybe
Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw

message 35: by Diya (new)

Diya | 3 comments I decided to read Hex Hall for this prompt because it was honestly the first book I thought of. It's been on my TBR since 2014, god knows why I never finished, but I'm halfway through and it's been really fun so far.

message 36: by Sara (new)

Sara (sempiternoentrelibros) | 6 comments Would Verity count?
Verity by Colleen Hoover

message 37: by Drakeryn (new)

Drakeryn | 708 comments @Sara it looks mirrored to me, I'd count it.

Tera (TheBookishAbyss) | 2 comments The edition of Spook by Mary Roach that I recently completed has a reflection on the cover. Another edition uses mirrors for the Os in Spook, so technically “mirror” is in the title.

Diana (candystripelegs) | 246 comments I haven't read this, but I ran across it while looking at a book list.

The Escapement by Lavie Tidhar

The premise looks kinda interesting.

Eric | 11 comments Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

This was an interesting and quick read - a YA book about revenge and the cycle of violence, written in verse. The entire book covers a one-minute elevator ride just after the protagonist's brother has been killed.

I usually avoid listening to poetry via audiobook, but I thought this audiobook -- read by the author -- was excellent.

Kristine | 15 comments I just read The Ruin which is the first book in a short series of 3. I loved it and the cover has a beautiful reflected image of the forest next to a lake! Highly recommend this author and the audiobook - narrator has a beautiful Irish brogue!

I just picked up a book with a reflection in sunglasses, and I'm thinking I will use it for this category. So I say YES!!

Grave Reservations (The Booking Agents #1) by Cherie Priest

Dea (maidmirawyn) | 202 comments I recommend The City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin, book three of The Passage. It's a rather different book from the first and takes you some very strange places you don't expect to end up. But it's excellent!
