Siobhan J | 12 comments I read Shadows Till Sunrise. The big bad in the series it spun off from was called The Dragon, and the protagonist of this used to work for him but is now redeemed.

Anne | 307 comments I will be reading The Lost Island by Preston and Child. I can recommend two books by Steff Penney - The Tenderness of Wolves, and Under a Pole Star.

Barbara (soulflame1) | 129 comments I read George R. R. Martin's Fire & Blood. It is the prequel to the Songs of Fire & Ice series, when the Targaryen's (and their dragons) ruled Westeros. That should do nicely.

Ana (ana_sg88) | 138 comments I read Entre Monstros e Dragões - Volume I by R.C. Vicente by R.C. Vicente ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

GailW (abbygg) | 675 comments I had to do some research on this one and found a definition of the phrase as "means dangerous or unexplored territories". I read The Hollywood Spy by Susan Elia MacNeal which included historical accounts of Nazis and KKK in Los Angeles during WW2.

message 56: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Harris | 1502 comments I read The Cartographers. 5 stars

message 57: by Stacey (new)

Stacey D. | 1908 comments I read Together We Burn by Isabel Ibañez. This is a brand new YA novel and it didn't disappoint, although I wish there could have been some illustrations of the fiery dragons and more of these beautiful creatures. A medieval tale of courage and romance featuring a fearless flamenco dancer and sexy dragonador. I highly recommend it.

Rachel (mimbza) | 238 comments I went with the map theme:

The Cartographer's Secret by Tea Cooper The Cartographer's Secret by Tea Cooper is an Australian dual timeline historical mystery that shifts between the Hunter Valley in 1911 and 1880. The older storyline features Evie Ludgrove, who is determined to create a map, and find out all she can about the disappearance of historical explorer Ludwig Leichhardt. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Here is my review

KP | 198 comments I read the Cartographer's for this prompt

message 61: by Sofia (new)

Sofia Samu | 30 comments I have been struggling with this prompt, but I'm currently reading Only a Monster by Vanessa Len and the phrase is mentioned, because it exists outside the buildings with "monster" presence.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 3646 comments I went with the Uncharted Territory meaning of the term, and read The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell. It's an excellent "first contact" book involving space travel to an unknown planet with intelligent life.

For my second round, I used a book I read for an author challenge. Thea Stilton and the Dragon's Code.

message 63: by Hannah (new)

Hannah Peterson | 700 comments Nancy, I also read The Sparrow for this prompt and I also really liked it! I originally intended to use it for a different one, but I ended up feeling like this prompt so perfectly captured the spirit of the book that it would be a shame not to use it. Just like you said, the idea of uncharted territory that might be inhabited by either great or terrible creatures.

message 64: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments I read The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King. I really enjoyed it. It was an older book that he wrote in 1987. It was fantasy and had princes, Kings and a magician in it. It had a lot of action in it. I rated it four stars. This prompt was a struggle for me at first because I had gotten away from fantasy for a bit. But when I searched for the word dragon in the title, I was glad a Stephen King book came up. I'm trying to read more and more of his books.

message 65: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Kristick | 874 comments I went with Off the Edge of the Map: Marco Polo, Captain Cook, and 9 Other Travelers and Explorers That Pushed the Boundaries of the Known World by Michael Rank. Many of the explorers covered in this book were going beyond the known world, to the parts of map where you would find “here be dragons” and beyond. Included famous explorers like Marco Polo, Magellan, and Cook, as well as lesser known travelers like a medieval Chinese monk who travelled across Asia and the Middle East to Europe. A bit uneven, and some of the chapters were a bit of a slog.

I’d recommend When Women Were Dragons, which I read earlier this year, for this prompt.

Rachel (mimbza) | 238 comments Echoes of the Runes by Christina Courtenay Echoes of the Runes by Christina Courtenay is a dual timeline historical romance involving archaeologists in contemporary Sweden and 9th Century Vikings and Celts. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review

message 67: by Sheena (new)

Sheena Davis (sheenad) | 571 comments I'm going high fantasy for this prompt with The Ruin of Kings - it has a dragon on the cover, dragons in the story (supposedly? haven't met any yet at 10%) and includes a map in the book.

message 68: by Pearl (new)

Pearl | 525 comments It took a very long time, but I read Fellowship of the Rings for this prompt. I liked it!

message 69: by Roxana (new)

Roxana (luminate) | 775 comments Read Tooth and Claw for this one! It took me a while (just haven't been reading much for a few weeks, not the book's fault entirely), but I found it a clever riff on 19th century family/society drama novels. Shades of North and South....but it's all dragons.

message 70: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (prairielily) | 177 comments I might use Into the Wild.
I’ve never read it and it definitely fits uncharted territory!

message 71: by Marie (new)

Marie | 1064 comments I went for the obvious with this one, A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan.

I'm going obvious with the recommendations as well - Guards! Guards!, The Priory of the Orange Tree and The Ruin of Kings, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a great option is you don't like fantasy.

message 72: by Joanne (new)

Joanne | 478 comments Just finished my last book for the challenge: The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd which really felt like a book that was made for this prompt.
