Okay guys, we need to have a little chat.

If you are doing a Buddy Read/Group Read that requires you ACTUALLY talking about the book in the thread. Maybe no one else will comment, however you are still having some opinions about the book even if you read it alone.

I was mostly done with the updates before realizing that some of the completion posts say the BR/GR happened but there is no participation in the discussions. So this is what's going to happen: I'm going to go again through the updates, if there's only one comment in the thread (even if it isn't about the book) and you put it as a BR/GR I'll count it, however after today we won't be counting those types of buddy/group reads.

Maybe it's cruel to say this but thank you about it! I hate when I plan a BR and I'm the only one commenting... and then they post they did it? Ugh.
(Also I was left alone in two of the buddy reads because my partners were faster, but that's a complaint for another time xD)

I agree! I can admit, I've a few times now lost track of time or not kept up with BR. But I still try to pop in and mention that im behind, talk about what I have got done or if not going to manage in time.

I hate that too! It irks me so much. If you wanted to read a book with me then let's read it together and talk about it, that's the point. I've discovered that I like talking with my buddy about the book, and I maybe get too wordy, but that's what I expect a buddy read to be.

I am guilty of reading faster than the schedule 😅 especially in games like these when I over book myself with buddy reads (oops), and then I try to catch up to them, and read some more so that I have time for other books.. but I still discuss things.

It's okay not to be up to date with the BR or to even DNF it - that's something I let myself do if I don't like the book, since I had some experiences when my buddy didn't show up at all and I finished a book and hated it SO much, but pushed through because I was supposedly reading it with someone. As long as you make your buddy aware of that that's OK in my book.
