Trying to plan ahead:
- enough for black/gray? enough for white/beige/pink?
- enough for blue/purple?
Rachel, yes to black & white for Blood Rights. No to Diaries of an Urban Panther for blue/purple, its more black.
I am without a book! I have finished everything I was reading...I need a Shelf!!
I guess I could start something and use it as my in between book when I'm done with challenge books... now what do I start!

Winning? Don't we need 2 lines for Bingo?
What's the incentive to read your shelf if it's a winning shelf for Team 4 or 13?This game was too short. I am calling for an amendment to the rules, making this current game a Double Line Bingo!!!

I second that motion....double line or an exact pattern....
I so don't like it when it ends early...I am happy for the team that wins but I just want more bingo...
The odds that the game will end today are low...there are like 18 shelves left to be called and two are winners. It can happen but I'd think we have at least a couple of more weeks left.SHELF!!
I think it was the last round I played in, it got the point where there were I think 2 out of 6 remaining shelves that weren't winners and both got called before a winning one. You never know. (it may have been only 1). Anyway, every week the list of winning shelves got longer and every week a non-winning shelf was picked for a few weeks in a row despite there being many more winners.
Lauren wrote: "Can the S be a middle initial like C. S. Harris?"Lauren, it has to be first or last name. Sorry, no middle names.
I've been considering an exact pattern round for a while now. Maybe we'll do that before the year's out. ;)

An example would be if we said, in order to win you have to make a box - vertical all of B and all of O, plus horizontal top row and bottom row. That's a lot though. Maybe something smaller, say an X - two full diagonals. If we were to play an exact pattern to win, we'd post a picture of a winning card to avoid any confusion.
I assume it means you have to match an exact pattern on your card -- all four corners, both diagonals, T pattern from top row and middle column, ...

postage stamps pattern is only 4...it is the four corners and the free space...
That's right, Daffodil. We'd share the pattern, of course, before the game to make sure everyone understood how to win the round, if we decide to change it up a round. That's my Grandma's favorite, Rosina. ;)
Jenne wrote: "I like the kite and tail one."that's a good one too
So Steph the book you recommended Devon Monk I cant read this round and Jenne looks like the one you recommended wont work either
I will have to read them on the side in between rounds cause I really want to get to them both now...
Can the author be someone that uses S as their first initial? S. J. D. Peterson? Will this work?? pretty please........
Hope you like it whenever you're able to get to it, Rosina. I'm itchin' for book 3!I second Sierra Dean's Secret McQueen series. :D I'm going to read her spin-off Bayou Blues for this shelf.
Jenne wrote: "Aww that sucks :(Read secret McQueen by Sierra dean (I'm on the app) she's all sorts of awesome :)"
I m on it cant wait to stop working tonite and dive in
Thanks ladies for the rec... :)
Lol Steph I almost read that too for this shelf, but I need either a dragon or necromancer so went with a Rylee Adamson book :)I'll have to lurk for your review.
Hope you enjoy Rosina!
I have a question about this shelf, which hasn't been called yet but I figured I ask before it does...Science Fiction Genre (any sci-fi sub-genre allowed ~ fantasy, sci-fi romance, alternate history, horror, cyberpunk, steampunk, time travel, military science fiction, apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction, etc)
Fantasy is not a sub-genre of Sci-Fi but its own genre. I did some research : https://www.worldswithoutend.com/reso... to find out more about the sub-genres of each and found out that there's a Science-Fantasy sub-genre that has a bit of both but besides that, most fantasy books deal with magic and have no science fiction whatsoever. I mean, I'm fine if the mods want to allow it (I read more fantasy than sci-fi so I'll have more choices) but I was curious as to why it was there when the genres tend to be so different.
Yeah, that was me. Great question - easy answer. I included it b/c I've seen a lot of books tagged/shelved "science fiction & fantasy" around Amazon, GR, etc. Figured I'd throw 'fantasy' in with this one for those who may have shelved their Sci-Fi and fantasy books together.

It really works better for me if I can read fantasy so I wanted to confirm. :)
I think publishers like to group them together - what people would call today 'Speculative Fiction' - but they are each their own thing.
