I got a call from my boss early, telling me I had to go to DC for the week. I started trying to figure out what I needed to get my house in order for hubby to handle all 3 kids till I got back on Saturday.

I just started panicking and got worked up. As I was listening to my audiobook, I thought "oh shit, I forgot to post pairs for DB and FWYS."

I was just discombobulated. I hate being away from my family. So I was bugging out. I'm sorry I was acting like a chicken with my head cut off.

My flight to DC was just cancelled for "increment weather". So, It looks like I'm safe this week thanks to DCs snow

Zuzana | 1204 comments Hi Rosa, picking for you was incredibly easy. Emma is one of my all-time favourite books and The Martian is on my TBR list for next month. BTW if you're looking for somebody to buddyread with you, I'd be more than happy to do so. Enjoy!

Thanks Nichole, I needed the kick to finally read The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman . It's been sitting on my bookshelf and gathering dust long enough. :)

Zuzana wrote: "Hi Rosa, picking for you was incredibly easy. Emma is one of my all-time favourite books and The Martian is on my TBR list for next month. BTW if you're looking for some..."

Aww Zuzana! I equally hoped and feared that you would pick 'Emma'. This was my only truly 'dusty' book, I have it for at least two years (totally embarrassing, I know!) and just couldn't bring myself to reading it.... Including it in this challenge, I promised myself, if it got picked, I would read it first thing in March (I also promised myself, if it doesn't get picked, I would not even think about it all March long ;-) ).

So, thank you for giving me the kick I really needed... I'm sure it's a great book and doesn't deserve at all to be treated like that - It is one of my sisters all- time-favorites too, that was one of the reasons I bought it, and I felt bad all the time with ignoring it but I just couldn't get started.

message 89: by Zuzana (last edited Feb 17, 2015 01:54AM) (new)

Zuzana | 1204 comments Rosa, I love Emma and I wouldn't mind re-reading it with you if you think it would help you to finally pick up the book and read it. ;-)

BTW I even have the same edition as you do, it's sitting on the upper shelf of my bookcase along with my other favorites.
Emma by Jane Austen

No worries, Ezi! You are an amazing mod and there is so much to figure out when you are headed out of town and have to turn the reins over. Glad you got a reprieve!!

I haven't read a single one of your picks yet :-)

I pick for you
After Dark (Harmony #1) by Jayne Castle - some of my GR friends rated it highly and I have it on my TBR. If you read it, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
and
Midnight Riot (Peter Grant, #1) by Ben Aaronovitch sounds interesting

Lou~❧Powerless Over 1-Click❧ | 1753 comments @Stephanie

This was a hard one for me because you posted several books I enjoyed and others I know nothing about.

My first selection is Nothing Like Paris (Bend or Break, #2) by Amy Jo Cousins , because it's new and I thought that indicated you must really want to read it. Like now! LOL

My second choice is Dark Space (Dark Space, #1) by Lisa Henry because I did the ugly cry when I read it and would like to share that experience with you! Uh, insert evil laugh here?

That's so nice of you, but I do better on my own, all I needed was a push in the right direction and you did a perfect job! I don't feel guilty anymore when I'm looking at it and I put it all on the top of my TBR pile
