Thanks, Ramneek. Both books have been on my TBR for what seems like forever. I read the 5 book Fever series and fell in love, then purchased Iced and just never got around to it. With the recent addition of Burned, I knew it was time to get back to the series before I need to start over again with Darkfever.

I read Sempre earlier this month, and I encourage you to sweep off the dust and give it a try. Loved that book so much I can't wait to see how the story continues!

LaurLa | 3905 comments Hi Turtlecollector!

First, I have to say I love your name! I like turtles a lot. I used to collect turtle figurines back in college because they were my sorority's mascot and the affinity has stayed with me these 20 years, though I don't really collect anymore.

Second, I have to say I love your name! We call my son Turtle because... well, for obvious reasons. He tends to be a bit pokey ;-)

Lastly, and the reason we're all here, I pick for you:

Thanks, Free Country was one I was hoping would get picked since it looks like it may be more upbeat than other ones.

I have been collecting turtle items mostly since high school, but my very first stuffed animal as a baby, which I still own, was a turtle.

The Scars by William Tennant

I've finished this one and am going to read something else before I tackle the second book on this challenge... this first one was a real doozy for me - more horror than i am used to and will definitely give me nightmares... there is a reason I prefer cozy mysteries... I am sure someone else would like it much better than I did, because it is well written and the storyline and plot are pretty tight...

I finished Unconditional Surrender - An M/M Military Bundle YIKES 904 pages! I am not a fan of anthologies. In my experience, they are too uneven. Some are good stories, some bad and that bothers me. In addition, I think it would be better to read over a period of time, as opposed to read it until it is finished (2 days) like I did.

Cruise Control - 3 stars
Arctic Fire - 3 stars, interesting setting
Storm Out - 3 stars
Civilian Master - 2 stars
His Guarded heart - 2 stars
Blood & Peyote - 2 stars? I couldn't follow this one
Desert Heat - 2stars
The Houseboy: Initation - Ummm..I don't know. I t wasn't poorly written, but it was disturbing to read.
Irristible Forces -- huh...can't even remember enough to rate it - -wait I remember now, I liked it until about 1/2 way through, then I hated the what the author did with the couple
Flight Risk - 3 stars

These I liked:
Hometown hero - 3.5 stars, very cute MC
Resilient Heart - 4 stars, it wasn't perfect, but it evoked a lot of emotions
The Only One Who Cares 5 stars-- this is part of a series that I really like, a great installment

So I need a break from the military types, so I'll read the next book sometime next week.

I'm getting it as a traveling book this month so that is cool it works with this challenge as well. I've had it on my TBR for soooo long. Ransom River, by Meg Gardiner, finished 2/28 ★★★.5
The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho, finished 3/6 ★★★

I ended up reading Ransom River right at the end of February for an impromptu book discussion when some of my GR friends came to town, so I guess it really doesn't count for March, does it? :)

I read The Alchemist earlier this week, since it filled several challenge slots, and it's a book I've owned for years. I'm glad I got the push I needed to read it, and now I can move on to the next dusty book. Thanks!
