Task 9 - 17. Read 4 books written by a male author.
Book: Lord Mouse by Mason Thomas
pg numbers: 266 pages per GR
How book qualified: https://www.amazon.com/Mason-Thomas/e...
Date Completed: 10/17
Rating/Review:
4.5 stars

This was a wonderful fantasy romp with action, danger, colourful characters and a daring escape. I liked the romance that evolved and didn’t even mind it was fade to black on the sexy times. This felt like the fantasy I read as a teen with strong characters that had honour while perhaps not being clearly good. Highly recommend

The mystery wasn't bad, but nothing spectacular either, and definitely not enough to carry the book without barely any romance.

Book one in series. I enjoyed the world building and unique characters. Book ends with lots of questions still unanswered and look forward to continuing with book two.

I hope everyone is doing well - I'm off from work today and the weather is glorious! I'll mostly be running errands, but I'm still going to enjoy it.

I joined GR in late December of last year. Are there any particular challenges or events this time of year I should be looking out for?

I'm so jealous, here it's been raining for like a week. Enjoy it while you can!

I've had to cut down a lot on challenges due to RL stuff, but you can always check the usual challenge groups newsletters (AMMP, NBRC, etc) to see what they have going on.

message 166: by Truitt_T (new)

Truitt_T | 805 comments Filipa - I can sympathize about the rain. We had a recent stretch where it rained for ten days straight. It wasn't necessarily a huge amount every day (although some days it was), but it finally ended and we've been dry ever since. We're supposed to have a drier, warmer winter - we'll see.

KellyJo - Unhinged is pretty odd and rather dark, but for some reason I really enjoyed it. I hope you do, too!

Teresa - The Rock Star's Guide to Getting Your Man was a book that suited my mood when I read it. In retrospect, it may be more a four star book, but I found it really charming at the time.

I absolutely adored this book! I loved the Canadian setting, I loved the second chance romance, and I loved Carter and Jeff. There is a lot of emotion, some humour, some non-relationship drama, and a whole lot of love.

Truitt_T | 805 comments I’m so glad you liked it, Teresa! It was just such a nice book - nice people and a great setting. And I’m not even a big fan of second chance romance. I’ll admit to an odd fondness for rock star romanced, though.😉

I was in the mood for something different and this one hit the mark. A little bit dark, with mentally ill characters, very entertaining storyline. I look forward to reading about the other brothers. This is my first book by this author so I will be going back to check out other series too.

This is another entry in very readable MM ice hockey romance series. I've become a sucker for Hockey romances - and even though this one was a second chance romance (not my favorite trope), I enjoyed it.

Once I let go of the fact that supposedly these dragons are over 10,000 years old yet speak fairly modern English, were found in North America, and lived in kingdoms (though at one point it’s stated they were from the Middle Ages), I enjoyed the story. Sam is such a bundle of nerves and yet endearing. Blaze is playful and protective. They really complimented each other.

You can find the year you joined RRRC on the members page for the group. Make sure you use the initial publication date for this task.
