Oh my gosh it was thrilling but it was lacking something. The humor was there but it was not as well timed. I hope it is growing pains of a new series. 3 stars

Have been busy driving to London to pick up my mom and bring her home for the weekend as well as looking at a new residence she is going to be moving into in a month as she needs more help. First things first, THIS COVER IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. Seriously.

With that said, this was ok. There was some charming small town shenanigans going on and I did somewhat like the steam. However, and I can't believe I'm saying this... it was a little too sweet. A little too polished and a little too perfect. Everyone was just so nice all the freaking time. And while I usually love a nice guy getting the love he deserves, in this particular book, I got a little bored. I had high hopes this would have the same charm as the author's Stumbling into love series which I absolutely adored every single book of, maybe they were too high. Will I read the second book? Most likely.

It is so great to be back with Dex and Sloane after four long years. They’ve been doing field training the last couple years, but now they are finally given their own critical mission. Dex is playing at being a James Bond agent, when everything blows up, the reality of the horrors brings out a side of Dex no one has ever seen. I hope we get the next book soon!

I liked it Dee but to me it was way over top. I found it had two much humor. I think it is because it is a new series. Like you I can't wait for the next book.

But I am curious what mystery animal Rowan is. Obviously an animal which loves climbing…remember her sitting up on the file cabinet.
And a rare one since no one recognizes her scent.

At first I was thinking something like a sabertooth tiger because of her strength during the big fight scene. But I don’t think they had that graceful agility.

So now I’m thinking a rare Clouded Leopard. They are known to be the most talented of feline climbers. And i think they have powerful strength. From Wikipedia ~ “It uses its tail for balancing when moving in trees and is able to climb down vertical tree trunks head first.”

Margays are also rare and excel in climbing…. But they are kinda like an ocelot. I don’t think they would have that powerful strength like the Clouded Leopard.

Review: I'm not sure I liked this as much as the Gabe and Josh books. Even though one of the men (Emory) is psychic, the insta-love between him and Jon just doesn't work that much for me. It's like they both know what it is between them without even getting to know each other. It's just 'meant to be'. It also jumps around past months at a time. And why mention the trip to visit Jon's friend Beau without finishing that story line? It just seemed like a way to set up other books, without adding anything to the current story. I did like them both, and I did understand Emory's inability to let go of the memory of his dead husband, but this story just felt disjointed to me.
