It's actually a continuation of the Uglies series, and is now it's own series of 3 going on 4 books.

Plot details: Younger sister in a set of twins has been her sister's hidden, trained bodyguard all her life. Father is a business man/politician and a tyrant at home, while sisters are best friends. Public sister is a political 'influencer' and celebrity. Mother: dead. Previous setting changes when main character hidden twin sister is sent on a political-oriented mission, identity discovered, escapes attempted assassination with romantic interest ('prince' of political ally). Guerilla warfare. Attempted kidnapping wherein older twin sister is 'rescued' from the tyrant father and younger twin sister is 'captured' and accidentally left behind.
This is the first book in a series that had no sequel when first read in 2018.
