D.L. | 1516 comments I'll be honest. I was really, really hoping Jurassic Park would win for this month lol But I am going to try to read this book because I need to finish at least one group read for the Book Club challenge. This one is thick and sounds a bit intimidating but it's getting good reviews so I'll give it a chance.

Eirelyn (ladyeirelyn) | 1244 comments I read this in June & really liked it. I hope everyone enjoys! :D

Debra Diggs | 502 comments I loved Andy Weir's The Martian. Hoping I will love this one too. I have it on hold. The wait list is long, so I might not get it in time.

Eirelyn (ladyeirelyn) | 1244 comments @Debra Digs, I LOOOOVED The Martian -- one of my favorite books ever! I didn't love this one quite as much, but I still really enjoyed it. It helped me to try not to compare the two. :D

Valerie Reyes | 1158 comments This is on my TBR list so I’ll be joining in this month.

Ashleigh Motbey (ashybear02) | 1686 comments I read The Martian earlier this year and absolutely loved it (would give it 6 stars if I could) so super keen to read this!

message 10: by Ann (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ann (hammiam) | 222 comments Looking forward to discussing this one!

Karin | 231 comments I just read this during this summer so am looking forward to this discussion :)!

Kelly | 3 comments Good timing! My goal was to complete Artemis (before I could start PHM). Goal met! I don't have a copy yet but know someone who bought at Target.

TCampbell | 530 comments I'm #125 on 13 copies at my library. Hopefully, I will get it in time to read along.

Thanks for the info, Eirelyn. It has been a while since I read The Martian, so hopefully I won't compare too much.

I am next in line to get Project Hail Mary! It is due at the library Sept. 2nd.

I have not read Artemis yet. Have not decided whether I will or not.

Mary (marysreading) | 11 comments I am reliant upon the public library, which has a waitlist of more than 800, Not likely I will be joining the read.

Oh gosh, yes mine has about an 80 person reserve list! I'll be listening via Audio as I have audio ke credits but I know the feeling of the hold list - not to mention we are in lockdown as all due dates of current loans have been extended to at least September 12 (potentially longer)

Debra Diggs | 502 comments I forgot about the current due dates being extended. I might not get mine after all. Well, guess I will see next month.

L Y N N (book_music_lvr) I am so excited! I went to Half Price Books to search for a copy of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue for the Popsugar September Monthly Group Read and ended up discovering a used copy of this for...wait for it...drum roll...HALF PRICE! LOL 😂

I thought I wouldn't be able to join in on this one, but now I can!

I adored both The Martian and Artemis, though I thought they were very different books. So anxious to see how this third book goes! The GR rating is 4.55! Can't get much better than that and I hope I agree with that once I've read it!

Ashleigh Motbey (ashybear02) | 1686 comments I've started this a tad early. It about 20 minutes into the audiobook.

Lorna Satchwell | 1 comments I’m about to download and listen or read this one. I hope to enjoy it. I was just checking to see what I should read next. Glad this was chosen.

Travis (td8027) | 7 comments I got the hardcover and am excited as well! It's not on the top of my list though. Happy reading!

They are quite different, so that might help. I am very glad I had a long break between reading The Martian and his other novels. So far my favourite was The Martian (not by comparing one of his books to the other--I have read a lot of scifi in between his books) and my least favourite Artemis with this one in the middle at 4 stars.

I read The Martian in 2013.

Debra Diggs | 502 comments Thanks for the info, Karin. I read The Martian in 2015. So Project Hail Mary should go pretty well for me.

message 24: by Amy J (new) - added it

Amy J (ajigou) | 13 comments I haven't read the Martian. This is a standalone, correct? Looking forward to reading both, but would do this one first if possible.

Debra Diggs | 502 comments Yes, Amy. This is a standalone. Most definitely.
