My review for
The Secret World of Connie Starr by Robbi Nealhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Thanks, Heather! I think I'm going down the rabbit hole with this project, but it will be fun.I recently finished Within the Sanctuary of Wings which I loved. The audio narrated by Kate Reading is amazing! Now I'm listening to Turning Darkness Into Light. It has different narrators because it tells the story of Isabella's granddaughter.
I finished The Wedding Dress Sewing Circle
by Jennifer Ryan. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed this one. The excellent characterization made this book special. My 5 star review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Two mysteries finished in the last 24 hours:
* The Edge by Dick Francis is a horse racing mystery set on a transcontinental train across Canada.
* Maigret and the Burglar's Wife by Georges Simenon — Classic Parisian mystery. It’s been a long time since I read a book by Simenon, and it’s definitely a faster and easier read in English. I finished this in less than 24 hours.

Finished Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy today. Loved the ending, and it ticks off another Popsugur prompt (Victorian era). Now 27/50 for that one and working on another.

I finished listening to Turning Darkness Into Light
. It was great. It introduced new characters and added a mystery into the storyline. I Ioved it.
Got a week of non-cozies ahead of me. Just turned out that way. Starting out with:
Clouds in My Coffee by Julie Mulhern https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished a noncozy by cozy author Ellie Alexander, Lost Coast Literary
. It was very good set in Nothern California. Lots of book discussion. Talks about family relations, death and how that effects a family. I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend.

Two non-cozies read and enjoyed so far this week:
* Cowboy All Night by Vicki Lewis Thompson, a steamy romance from a few years ago
* Kansas City Secrets by Julie Miller, a rom-suspense that has also been lingering in Mount TBR a while

Just finished The Temporary Roomie by Sarah Adams - a contemporary romance - really didn't like it unfortunately. The first book in the duology I liked a lot better.

Entertaining. However, it was short on the suspense that is usually in this series.
I am reading The Devil and the Dark Water
by Stuart Turton. Good so far set in 1634 Amsterdam., Starts in Batavia with boat travel. Dutch West India Company.
