So a girl goes to an academy for exceptional people, but the school is also filled with cameras that films the students like a reality show. There's a ranking system that determines with students are the most popular. There's a whole bunch of drama happening, the girl falls in love with a guy that works there as staff. They give the students pills every night so they can "rest" well for the morning. One night the girl decides to not take the pills and sees someone wheeling one of the students out of the room. She decides to follow them and finds out a secret lab beneath the school where they experiment on students. In the end the staff figure out that the girl in onto them as she keeps sneaking out, and so they experiment on her, that's where the book ends.
