Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 2024 comments Would this kind of cover work for Mission - a: read a book with one full body on the cover True Blue by David Baldacci Brooklyn Blue (A Madison Knox Mystery #1) by M.Z. Kelly Agent Undercover (Rose Mountain Refuge, #1) by Lynette Eason ?

Someone who is more than just mentioned. Someone who affects or is affected by the plot of the story."

So the victim in a murder mystery would drive the story forward. Will that work?

Kept in the Dark (Locke and Keyes Agency #1) by Charlie Cochet ..im presuming you can only have 1 person on cover

Agnieszka wrote: "So a family member's death that changes the course of a character's life was not what you had in mind or would that work?"

As long as the character dies during the book, and is more than just a mention.

Agnieszka wrote: "How about a recently died person (as in ghost) that's still having an impact on the events?"

The person needs to die sometime in the story. A ghost is already dead. Sorry.

The first book will work since there is just the one full body on the cover.

I would be happier if the character was instrumental to the plot and killed later in the story. That would work.

No, because the task says 'one full body'. There are two full bodies on that cover.

I decided to look up the definition of submarine to help me with my answer. Wikipedia says "...the principal meaning of 'submarine' is an armed, submersible warship..."

So yes, submarine will work, but it has to be a large submarine :)

Hi Lanelle — is this ok for “one full body”? There are other people on the cover but not full bodies, so I thought I’d ask.

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 2024 comments Two questions:
Location: read a book NOT set on Earth - does it have to be in space or would a book set mainly in air (plane/air balloon/zeppelin) or at/in sea (cruise/submarine/underwater recovery) work as well?

Transportation: read a book where the MC rides in a truck - would a pick-up or food truck work or only the bigger machines?

While the drive itself wasn't too much fun, there weren't any problems or bad traffic. Overall, a quiet, uneventful 15 hours. I did listen to 1 and 1/2 audio books :)

In space or on a different planet than Earth. Basically, a science fiction book.

A pick-up truck.

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 2024 comments I plan to read Slow Curve on the Coquihalla by R.E. Donald for my task and as with most of ebooks (especially those from smashwords.com) they have no page # only word count. For those books I'm usually using the 250 words per page key I found somewhere on GR years ago (unfortunatelly I've not noted the source and can't find it anmore). 118,490 words would mean 474 pages - according to Amazon it's 350 (paperback)/351 (Kindle)
Which of these would you like me to use for this challenge? The one I usually use, the first paper edition (as with audiobooks) or Kindle since both are ebooks?

I haven't found a quick or easy way to do it, which is why I've said that's it's not necessary. Maybe someone else has a method.

I've created a message for each week and add the book and author links as I get the information. As soon as the last person reports back, I add the missing details and copy&paste those into the reporting thread. I'm not sure there's a way to shorten up the process though if there's one I'm all ears (and eyes *grins*)

If you want to see an example here's a link to Week 5 in our group. In the lower third of the message are all the details for the team report.

Shelly | 640 comments Thank you Lanelle and Agnieszka,

Actually I do make a post to add each team member’s info each week. Then I copy and past that post over at the completion thread. However, at that point the direct links are lost. I will just continue with fixing the links one I get to the completion thread. It isn’t that difficult. I was just seeing if there was a shortcut.

I think we should go by what the series page says. There are only 10 major books in the series. Sorry, it won't work.

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 2024 comments Do I assume correctly that a compilation of three short mysteries (each single one around 100 pages long, total 312 pages) with the same MCs would work for Roadblock (i.e. MC owns a business)?

I planned to read Cherringham - Episode 28-30
