Ping! HWU2 (ps4). Not really much of a grind it turned out. Got the final treasure hunt vehicle a couple of races after the drift trophy, and overall, it seemed to cut a whack out of the PS5 plat time. No big complaints from me, more of the same with a few bugs but another solid effort. Just need to find something to keep me going till Tuesday. Looking forward to replaying the old MGS games

Not much gaming for me either. Or to be more precise, none since finishing Guardians.I actually quite fancy Hotwheels but it'd be a stretch to buy the new one atm. Plus I've got concerns over the length of the game given how Deck has platted it twice in 48 hours ;)
I did think about downloading the first game again for PS5 (as I only played the PS4 version) but couldn't face some of the shortcuts and grind again.
Have downloaded the PS4 version of Control with a view to doing the DLC. However despite the store telling me it's the ultimate version inc DLC, I'm not sure it is.
If the PS5 counters are anything to go by, the PS5 plat for HWU2 took just under 20 hours, the PS4 version was closer to 10. Not lengthy, but I can't say i feel I was shortchanged either
Started to install MGS Master Collection, and it's looking like they each have their own trophy list. Well, I can only see the MGS and Snake Eater ones at the minute, so you'd expect Sons of Liberty to have as well....then again, this is Konami. The MGS trophy list doesn't look too bad, it'll take a couple of playthoughs from what I remember, but maybe only one difficult one
Do you get all your games digitally Deck?I've had my PS5 almost a year and still haven't bought a game on disc for it.

Yeah, I've given up on disc based and have went full digital. They take up too much room, and there used to be more of a difference in price. That and delivery to Northern Ireland was horrible at the best of times, but its even worse these days. Generally makes more sense for me to be digital

Hey I definitely had high hopes for Andromeda, which is exactly why it's such a disappointment and can't be forgiven ;)

2Tb....you could fit a whole 8 CoD Black Ops Cold War's on that one! Well, probably closer to 7 with the obligatory console stuff taking up space. Don't know why, but I've developed a grudge against it for taking up too much space for little reason ;)

The decision of what to play versus having to install was killing my gaming mood for quite some time.
Played a wee bit of Metal Gear Solid ...and messed up a dozen times. Between throwing enemies instead of choking them out, getting stupidly caught by security cameras, and best of all, getting blown up with my own C4, I think it's safe to say Solid Snake should have stayed in bed thus morning. Still even messing up, it was just as much fun as it was.Think I might play Snake Eater first though, since they're remastering it I don't want it too fresh in the memory

Been playing TheEvil Within 2 lately.
A bit diferent from the first one but so far so good.
Decided to play through MGS 1 anyway. Loved replaying it but for some reason the end save didn't register, so didn't get the bandana fo that trophy. Still the plat looks more difficult than I though. Couldn't remember the requirements for the big boss/fox title, so went and had a look, and it's probably more than my current patience level. Might replay it to get the stealth camo before moving on to 2. Or might just stick with it until Friday and take an Alan Wake 2 intermission

That´s another game i should replay on the PS5.
I thought about replaying Control on PS5 too. I might do if the 'ultimate edition' PS4 version doesn't let me to the DLC.Prototype 2 (PS4 version) is on sale for less than £3. Tempted just for the straight forward plat.

Yea Control was excellent. Loved that game. I’m glad it had difficulty sliders though. Played all the DLC. Defo a game I might replay one day.
Another big fan of Control here. I just kind of discovered the DLC organically and didn't realize I was playing it until they made it obvious. A very nice surprise. I even played the combat simulator thing for a long time before moving on to a different game. Eager for a sequel on that one. All I remember about Alan Wake is darkness, birds, and finishing the game over a single weekend a decade ago.

Loved the atmosphere in Alan Wake. And the combat I really liked although I know some didn't. Had a good mix of horde moments - remember the music stage. Alan Wake 2 looks like a different game game play wise - same type of atmosphere as 1 - but appears on the face of it to copy Resi Evil in bullet sponge enemies and more one-on-one mini-boss encounters (i.e. more bullet spongey overall).
Was it Alan Wake that had thermos flasks to collect as well?

Played something for the first time in over a week last night.On both the PS3 and PS4 versions of LA Noire, I've always missing the same 3 DLC trophies and its always annoyed me. Managed to mop up the PS4 version last night and going to attempt to do the same on PS3 (if I can)
Alan Wake 2 is coming in hot...sounds like a GOTY candidate. Should be a blast for Remedy fans at the very least.
Definitely looking forward to getting stuck into Alan Wake 2 over the weekend. Making good progress in the Metal Gear Collection, finished MGS1 & 2 and only about an hour left of 3, so plan to polish that off first before getting stuck into AlanWake 2. I'll have a proper look at the trophies for each game at some point and decide whether i fancy the plat attempt. Loving replaying them though, and will be more than happy to come back. Still think the same as when they were first out - 2 is probably the weakest for me. Between the often cheesy dialogue (even by Metal Gear standards), the big shell doing very little for me as a location, and the bad guys not as interesting as some of the other games, it's probably my least favourite. Still had a blast replaying it though.

Looks like its visually a stunner.
Been playing the Evil Within 2 for the last week and im pleasantly very suprised.
Lately when i praise a game it usualy goes downhill from that moment onward but hopefully it remains a good experience.
I really enjoy the atmosphere and i started the game annoyed for being kinda open world but truth be said i´ve been exploring the initial town area for a whole week and i havent even got to the very first main objective the game gave me.
It just...works?
I've only played a wee bit of Evil Within 2. I remember there being one daft looking enemy near the start that chases after you, it was so comical, it made it hard for me to take the game seriously

Kind of confused by the WRC preorder on the PS store. Pre order the standard edition for 3 days early access....if its the standard version, what is it 3 days earlier than?

OK, I might have only played 10 minutes of it, but Alan Wake II looks fine. Nothing notably wrong to my eyes on performance mode, looks a lot better than a hell of a lot of games early on, and if that's the main complaint about it, it's looking promising. From Deck's critically acclaimed "10-minutes in" expert reviews ;)

I just cant play games at 30 fps these days, no matter how good they look.
Just the other day i booted AC Origins on my PS4 Pro just to play a bit.
As soon as the character started turning i just couldnt do it despite having played 100+ hrs in past and never thinking about the framerate whatsoever.
But now? Nah...i rather use a lower resolution with a higher framerate every day.
Its really stupid to see how games are dealing with the advancement in graphics over time.
Consoles will always struggle with framerates cause devs want to push visuals over the top not caring that consoles cannot be upgraded.
Probably in 2030 we will have fotorealistic games still running at 30 fps...
Yeah I do think developers focus too much on clutter, at the expense of performance. The first hour of Alan Wake II is mostly the investigative side, has more of a Quantic Dreams game feel than a Resi, and overall definitely a good mix of old Wake and strong flavour of Control. I know it's stupidly early on but it does look like it's shaping up to be another Remedy game I've a high opinion of

Yeah i know.
But i was in another room where i have the Pro.
There´s plenty of games that run at 60 fps on the PS5. Enough to get me used to it.
It reminds me of when i quit PC gaming and moved to consoles.
When i bought the PS3, the most difficult thing to get used was the framerates. I was used to 90+ fps and going down to 30 was a real pain to my head.
I got used to it over time but i always assumed the major goal for consoles was to reach at least 60 fps on all games.
Its been really disapointing to realize that we´re probably going to get 30 fps on most future games and end up playing them at 60 when the next console generation comes.
I'm not having any of R's negativity, Alan Wake 2 is brilliant so far ;)

I get what you are saying re lack of ammo. I'm playing on story difficulty to have a more "relaxed" experience, and it feels fine, balanced. But i think I'd be a bit/lot more worried at a higher difficulty. Then again, the saved game says I'm about 5 hours in, and the majority has been story/exploration and the combat situations haven't been stressful. Feels to me like they've drawn inspiration from their own games, Alan Wake, Control, the first 2 Max Payne. Resi-feeling it is not, so far at least

Changing subject. I’m still looking out for Termitator Resistance to become cheap. And the new Robocop game looks good. Both AA but a bit of nostalgia and both have been well received.
Terminator Resistance is definitely not AAA. It's very, I'd say, last gen, but probably even a gen before that. But if your expectations are low and like Terminator, it's not a bad budget effort. Definitely fun to be had if your a fan.I'm guessing the R(ob)ocop game will be similar;) They look like a pretty weird developer when you look at the previous games they've produced. I'll definitely pick it up, but there is no chance at full price
I'm pretty sure the PS5 version of Terminator Resistance is available via PS+ Extra R. I definitely want to play that new Robocop game at some point but I imagine it'll come to PS+ and Gamepass quite quickly.

Yea that’s why I’ve not bought them. They’re either games pass/ps plus extra or very cheap but still I’m keen to play them. I’ve not seen Terminator on ps plus extra.
"I’ve not seen Terminator on ps plus extra."Ah sorry, I might be wrong. I downloaded the PS5 version about a year ago and assumed that was because it was on PS+. It might be because I bought the PS4 version years ago and got the PS5 version as well.
Just bagged my missing PS3 version LA Noire DLC trophies. It played a lot better than I was expecting. Not much different to the PS4 version.
