Fifty Shades of Grey
question
Can someone explain to me how this book is a fan fiction of twilight?

I am confused on how this book is supposed to be a fan fiction of twilight? I have read both of the twilight series and 50 shade series and I can't figure out how this is supposed to be based on twilight.
I know twilight is vampires and they don't have sex until they are married, versus Christian takes her virginity without any care, plus they are going into the bdsm theme.
Can anyone answer my question?
Thanks

She admits it on her website.
Ana used to be called Bella, Christian used to be Edward, Jose was Jacob, the love triangle was based on the triangle in twilight. The vampire danger was replaced with s&m danger. Edward and Christian are both rich, possessive and stalkerish. Ana and Bella both virgin who are not interested in dating any guys but their Adonis. Surprise pregnancy. Both Edward and Christian didn't want it to start out with. Christian and Edward are both adopted. Both Edward and Christian have a dark secret. Both Ana and Bella go from dowdy to beautiful.
There is a thread that showed all the similarities.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I haven't read Twilight, but judging from the films, I think the focus EL James adopted wasn't the vampire story. It's about an average girl who meets a filthy rich, dazzlingly attractive man who wants to give her everything she could ever want, but unfortunately, there is a "forbidden" element about the man. One is a vampire, the other is a BDSM addict with personality issues. The man has siblings who adore the girl. The girl wasn't supposed to get pregnant, but in the end, she accidentally does. Only the other man who was in love with the girl shifted from being a lovable werewolf to a manipulative/psychotic boss.
I think that just about sums it up.

It started out as Literally Fan Fiction of Twilight. Minimal changes made when it was published. I mean Anna is supposed to be in her early 20s and speaks like a flippin 15 year old. Christian is essentially Edward, minus being a disco ball.
I never understand when people say this either. I never even heard this term until I started coming on goodreads.
It seems so many books are twilight fiction but none of the stories are the same except for a girl and guy falling in love.

It wasn't that one since I haven't read that book. It is going to bug me now on what story it was.

Google "Master of the Universe." It is 50 Shades EXACTLY, with Edward and Bella instead of Christian and Ana. All she did was change the names. That was IT.
I downloaded the pdfs specifically to compare them.
She had horrible editors.

I kept hearing this also. FSOG is twilight. I didn't really get it until I heard an interview about fan fiction on NPR recently. I was shocked to find out indeed it was literally twilight without vampires and more sex. I didn't even know one could do this!
