The Bachelor Team Challenge - Round 6 - Q&A, Tracking & Announcements

I think most of them are bare chested men, but I know Rebecca Jenshak and a few other rom com authors have written in that world.

This week is going to be my week for the questions. I can just feel it.
Would these books be okay for Haberdasher?

Laks wrote: "Is pants on cover mandatory? 🤔"
Pants can be assumed if the cover model is shown from the waist up and what is shown is fully clothed.

No, for this task it has to be a fully clothed male cover model.

I am assuming you are asking about Habit? I would need links to confirm.

Would you accept "Smokejumpers" as fire fighters?"
In context, that would work. So as long as it isn't something like 'not-as-crazy-as-smokejumpers' or referring to a restaurant. (What? It's not that farfetched - there is a restaurant called 'Smokejumpers' in Disney California Adventure!)

Yes, all of those work. Even though one is a true silhouette, it is obviously fully clothed.
So, to be clear - I will allow silhouettes for Haberdasher as long as the silhouette is clearly and obviously fully clothed.

I will accept from the waist up covers and assume the male model is wearing pants if the waist up is fully clothed.
I will accept silhouettes as long and the silhouette is clearly and obviously fully clothed.
I will accept tank tops as long as they are clearly not an undershirt!
I will accept as fully clothed a cover model that is dressed in a manor you would see in a casual restaurant. So something like shirt and shorts would be acceptable.
The torso needs to be covered on the cover, so the shirt can not be lifted up, ripped or unbuttoned more than at the neck.

The first cover doesn't work - appears to be an undershirt, not a tank.
Both of the other covers will work.

Thanks MKat!!
This helps me with my Meet n Greet for June/July as well
WINNING!!!!

Does 'happy' work?
or does it have to have those base words in the tag?
'humor/humorous', 'funny', 'comedy', 'comical', 'amusing', 'hilarious', 'hysterical' or 'laugh'
Thanks :)

(Those dreaded words again...) In context that will work. I didn't mean for those keywords to be exclusive and I will edit. 😊

👍Thank you

Leo used a different word for butt. It has an A in it.
Would that fit the "funny" bit.
And if not - it's fine. Because that tag alone along with all the other excessively descriptive tags gave me a good 5 minute laugh. And I think I know the plot of the book now too.
He fights fires.
He's a man whore.
Many have shelved the book under "STD" which I'm interrupting as "Stop The Door!"
Also, one shelf was labeled "Man whore hero before finding heroin"
So yeah.
I am TOTALLY going to read this book!

Wow, that sounds like a crazy book! In context, that would work for Happy.

The guy is actually clothed on the cover.
Full tee shirt..
The tags cracked me up though 🤣🤣

Same book now has a new title but the blurb is the same so do I use the orignal title's page count or the new one?

Yes that would work for Happy.
If the books are linked on GR as the same book, use the earliest dated English language Kindle edition page count in your completion post.

Frankly, I see this as cheating. It is very frustrating and makes me want to quit running these challenges.

🌹Theme - Summer Lovin'🌹
Date 4 - H - TASK ANNOUNCEMENT
H is for Habit - Read a book numbered 2 or higher in a series.
To qualify, the select book needs to be number 2 or higher in a series listed on GR. To qualify, the series must be numbered and listed on GR. Series such as 1001 Dark Nights will not work for this task.
Remember books must be 90 pages (first edition English language Kindle) and MPG Romance!!
You have until Friday, July 23 @ Midnight US EDT to post your completion(s).
Please ensure that your completion post conforms to message #3 of your team thread. If you complete more than one book for the date task, be sure to include that information in your completion post. Remember no discussion in your completion posts!

Speed Dating Rose - Team 3: Some Like It Hot
Multiple Date Rose - Team 1: The Pink Ladies - Amanda
Longest Date Rose - Team 1: The Pink Ladies - Amanda
Compulsive Dater Rose - Team 1: The Pink Ladies - Amanda
Page Turner Rose - Team 2: The Heat Is On

Frustrating for everyone who genuinely hunts for hours for a tag as well!

I have a question. I received two ARCs this week. Burn It Down by Julia Wolf which is #3 in a series and A Greene Family Summer Bash by Piper Rayne which is book 3.5 in the Greene family series.
Both books are set to publish after the current date ends.
Can I use these books for H date?
If not - THAT IS FINE. I still need to read them. I just wanted to see if I could double dip on these.
Thanks!

If the books are listed on GR in the series, with page counts and publication date - you can use them.

I'm a frequent ARC reader during this challenge and the one thing that makes it hard to use them is they might not be MPG romance yet, so just thought I'd remind you of that requirement (since I ALWAYS forget until Kat does the thread checks 🤣)

Amanda - you are a life saver! I just finished Burn It Down and logged it on our team thread. I'll go back and reverify that it is MG Romance. If it isn't I'll post a retraction comment.
I've been really sick for a few weeks, have had two trips to two different ERs and have been struggling with keeping home, my reviews, and this challenge straight. I think I have fully reached the "I'm broken" phase :-)
The sadder thing is I remembered to check an ARC that I was a sensitivity reader for, that I am two weeks late in getting the author a review for - and was annoyed that it's only showing as MPG Contemporary Romance so I knew I couldn't use it for this week's reads.
I'm going to bed. I'll start again tomorrow.
I'll clean up any messes in the morning. :-)
Thank you Thank you Thank you again for the reminder!

That works. Romance can be combined with other words - Contemporary, Historical, MM, Paranormal, it just has to have Romance.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
E is for Easel - Read a book with an artist MC, not performers.
To qualify for this task, the title, series title, precis, tags or lists need to indicate that the book features an artist. Performance artists such as actors or musicians will not work for this task. There are multiple types of artists that will work for this task - painter, sculptor, writer, poet, cartoonist, etc - as long as they are not performers.
E is for Eight - Read a book with an 8 in the initial publication date, do not convert the month to a number.
To qualify, the initial publication date needs to be have an eight in it. Dates such as 8, 18, or 28 will work as will years like 2008 and 2018. Do not convert the month to a number so August 10, 2020 would not work.
E is for Evergreen - Read a book with a tree on the cover.
To qualify for this task, the book's cover needs to show a clearly identifiable tree. I need to be able to distinguish at least one tree on the cover - a green blur in the distance is not going to work. To work, the cover needs to clearly and obviously show at least one tree. You can use any edition's cover to qualify for this task. Please include the qualifying cover in your completion post.
E is for Explore - Read a book written by a new to you author.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be written by a new to you author. Please include as your qualifier a link to your shelves, ideally searched for the chosen author. You may have more books by the author on your shelves, but only the one selected for this task can be marked as read or rated. The book read for this task must be on your shelves! You may only use each new to you author once, after that they are no longer new to you. For this task, I will need to be able to see your shelves. If your profile is private, you will either need to open it for the duration of this task or friend me. If I am am unable to verify your books, they will not count!

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.

Will a tattoo artist work?

Yes and yes. There is a lot of engineering in architecture, but a lot of art too.

If a book has an initial publication date with no day (8, 18, 28) for the publication date but the main book page does and it has an 8 in it, will that book work?

H is for Haberdasher - Read a book with a fully clothed man on the cover.
To qualify for this task, the cover of your selected books need to show a fully clothed man. The man must be wearing a closed shirt (neck can be unbuttoned, but not the whole shirt) and pants at a minimum.
H is for Habit - Read a book numbered 2 or higher in a series.
To qualify, the select book needs to be number 2 or higher in a series listed on GR. To qualify, the series must be numbered and listed on GR. Series such as 1001 Dark Nights will not work for this task.
H is for Happy - Read a humorous book.
To qualify for this task, the tag or list will need to include 'humor/humorous', 'funny', 'comedy', 'comical', 'amusing', 'hilarious', 'hysterical' or 'laugh' or the equivalent. These keywords can be included in other phrases in context.
H is for Hydrant - Read a book featuring a firefighter character.
To qualify for this task, the book needs to feature a firefighter character. This can be indicated in the precis, title, series, tags or lists. Combo tags will be allowed IN CONTEXT - so if your book is tagged 'cops_firemen_military', but the precis indicates the hero is a sheriff for example (or even if all the other tags just indicate law enforcement), the book will be disqualified. I strongly suggest you find other qualification if possible - I will be SUPER PICKY with the combo tags.
