Yes, I will get that when I update that thread. 😊
Iliana wrote: "Hey MKat, i was wondering if the tag sex-erotic-explicit qualify for this week. Its for the book Of Redemption and Vengeance. Its on the first page, second column https://www.goodre..."Yes, that will work.

No, do not convert the month to a number.
Iliana wrote: "Hey MKat, Team 2: The Heat is on would like to claim the speed dating rose."Sorry for the delay - didn't check my computer this morning. We were in a hurry to get out the door. I will check shortly, need a little time to recover from the heat first. 🥵
Laura wrote: "Will "sensual" or "steam-4" work for Lace, Mkat?"Sensual will not work. Steam-4 should work as long as it is in context.
Alissa wrote: "Is one tag enough as long as it isn’t any of my teammates that tagged it?"One tag is enough.
Hi MKat, Can I use this book for this week's date?
In top shelves there are the following tags:
- hot and steamy tagged by1 person
- Smutty tagged by 1 person
- erotic - romance tagged by 1 person
The tags noted are NOT ones I have created or used for this book.
If this won't work, it's fine. I need to reread it shortly, but I can save it for a a Saturday read instead.
Thanks!

'Hot and steamy' and 'erotic-romance' both work.
Date 7 - Tasks: Breakdown of the qualifications for possible tasks for Date 7.Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
O is for Occident - Read a book set in the west - Europe or America.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be set in Europe or the Americas. The setting can come from the book details, title, precis, tags or lists. To qualify the setting needs to be in a country (or a city within a country) on one of the following lists: List of States/Territories of Europe or List of States/Territories of the Americas.
O is for Offspring - Read a book featuring a child/children or a pregnancy.
To qualify for this task, the title, précis, list or tag would need to include the words 'pregnancy' or its variants, 'baby', 'child/ren' or 'kid/s'. The précis can also expressly state in other words that the book has a pregnancy in the story, this only applies to pregnancy and only to the précis. The child needs to be a minor, grown children would not qualify. These words need to be in context, 'baby, it's cold outside' does not work. 'Childrens' as in children's books (books written for kids) is specifically excluded from this task. 'Childrens' will not be an acceptable qualifier even if the book is clearly not a children's book.
O is for Oodles - Read a book by an author with over 25 distinct works.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be written by authors with 25 or more distinct works. When looking at the author's GR page, under the profile and questions is a section for the author's books. Under the section title 'author's books' it has statistics - average rating, number of ratings, number of reviews, number of distinct works. For this task, the number listed there for distinct works needs to be 25 or higher. This is the only place I will look to confirm your books - if the number listed there is not 25 or higher, your book will not work for this task. Please include a link to the author's GR page in your completion post. If the author writes under pseudonyms, the name listed on the selected book needs to qualify for this task. If the author's primary name is listed along with the pseudonym, for example "Nora Roberts writing as J.D. Robb", the pseudonym still needs to qualify on its own - you may not use the primary name to qualify your book. If both the primary and pseudonym names are listed authors on the GR main book page, the pseudonym is the name that needs to qualify. Books written by duo authors that do not write under a combined pseudonym, i.e. Christina Lauren or Ilona Andrews, are not allowed for this task.
O is for Opulence - Read a book featuring a millionaire or billionaire.
To qualify, the book will need a feature a rich or wealthy character, specifically a millionaire or billionaire. This can be indicated by the title, series name, precis, tags or lists.
And - will the tag 'rich' or 'wealthy' work for Opulence? Or does it need to be 'millionaire' or 'billionaire'?
Jane (PS) wrote: "And - will the tag 'rich' or 'wealthy' work for Opulence? Or does it need to be 'millionaire' or 'billionaire'?"Good qn Jane ! 🙂MM doesnt have much billionaires /millionaires.
For offspring does it have to be a character's child or would a book like A Taste of Love where older brother is in custody of his twin five year old brothers work? Or taking care of his niece in Liars? Or Bear, Otter, and the Kid? Or what if character teaches in a school not college but elementary, middle or high school?
Or a romance where both of the mc's start out as children like Keeping Promise Rock. Just listed as an example since I used it for date 6.
MountainKat wrote: "Books written by duo authors that do not write under a combined pseudonym, i.e. Christina Lauren or Ilona Andrews, are not allowed for this task...."Just to make sure that I don’t go in the wrong direction, your examples are authors that DO write under a combined pseudonym and are therefore acceptable, correct?
Jane (PS) wrote: "Hi Kat - will the tag 'mpreg' be enough for kids/pregnancy assuming it is in context?"Yes.
Jane (PS) wrote: "And - will the tag 'rich' or 'wealthy' work for Opulence? Or does it need to be 'millionaire' or 'billionaire'?"Yes, with the standard 'in context' disclaimer.
Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "For offspring does it have to be a character's child or would a book like A Taste of Love where older brother is in custody of his twin five year old brothers work? Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "Or a romance where both of the mc's start out as children like Keeping Promise Rock. Just listed as an example since I used it for date 6."I'm thinking that would be a stretch, especially finding any qualifications for that. From reading the precis, it sounds like their history primarily happens before the book. (I've read the book, though it's been a while, and I remember it as a small part at the beginning of the book.
Laura wrote: "MountainKat wrote: "Books written by duo authors that do not write under a combined pseudonym, i.e. Christina Lauren or Ilona Andrews, are not allowed for this task...."Just to make sure that I d..."
Correct. If the authors write under a combined pseudonym, it is allowed. But the pseudonym needs to meet the task requirements.
Hi all, I am going to be away from my computer for the next few hours. (Taking hubby to Urgent Care...) I will post the task on time, but won't be available for questions until this evening.
If a book is written by two authors (a collaboration) do their combined works need to meet the +25 books or do each of them individually need to pass the +25, or just one of the two?Eg (and I'm just pulling out the first one I thought of)
Clutch written by Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly aka Lynn Van Dorn
Piper - 44 distinct works
Virginia - 7 distinct works (LVD - 15 distinct works)
Not sure how many written together... Maybe 8?

Date 7 - O - TASK ANNOUNCEMENT
O is for Occident - Read a book set in the west - Europe or America.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be set in Europe or the Americas. The setting can come from the book details, title, precis, tags or lists. To qualify the setting needs to be in a country (or a city within a country) on one of the following lists: List of States/Territories of Europe or List of States/Territories of the Americas.
Remember books must be 90 pages (first edition English language Kindle) and MPG Romance!!
Scavenger Hunt Required Number - 7 OR Required Month - November:
To qualify for Scavenger Hunt Roses for Date 7, the initial publication date or the first edition Kindle page count must include the number 7. If there is a date at the top of the editions page, use it. Otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format. Do not convert the month to a number. If using the first edition Kindle page count, make sure you use an edition labeled as first edition OR released on the initial publication date OR is the earliest dated English language Kindle edition. Please include in your Scavenger Hunt claims how your book fits this requirement. Following the guidelines above for initial publication date, you may also use books initially published in November of any year. Please include which qualification you are using and how your books work in your completion posts.
You have until Friday, August 13 @ Midnight US EDT to post your completion(s).
Please ensure that your completion post conforms to message #3 of your team thread. If you complete more than one book for the date task, be sure to include that information in your completion post. Remember no discussion in your completion posts!

Books written by two authors not using a combined pseudonym are not allowed for that task.

I didn't understand that bit when I read it! Needed the context - like you! 🤣
Just to clarify for the setting. It can be any book set in the Americas, example New York or Florida. Even though thats the East Coast of the US
MountainKat wrote: "Hi all, I am going to be away from my computer for the next few hours. (Taking hubby to Urgent Care...) I will post the task on time, but won't be available for questions until this evening."I hope he’s ok Kat!
Iliana wrote: "Just to clarify for the setting. It can be any book set in the Americas, example New York or Florida. Even though thats the East Coast of the US"Anything set in the US will work - that is part of North America. 😊

MountainKat wrote: "Hi all, I am going to be away from my computer for the next few hours. (Taking hubby to Urgent Care...) I will post the task on time, but won't be available for questions until this evening."Hope your husband is feeling better Kat!
We are home now, just set him up with ice again. Hopefully just tendonitis and not a small fracture - x-ray was inconclusive for the practitioners there and they will let him know if the radiologist sees anything on Monday. The problem is that he is right handed and it is his right wrist. So things like eating or tying his shoes are problematic. Have you ever noticed that lefties can do more with their right hand than righties can do with their left? This leftie has!
MountainKat wrote: "We are home now, just set him up with ice again. Hopefully just tendonitis and not a small fracture - x-ray was inconclusive for the practitioners there and they will let him know if the radiologis..."Ouch. Must be really painful. Hopefully there is no fracture 🤞
Will a tag of "set in North America " work?* EDIT- Never mind. North America is good as per that list you have provided above.

And as a lefty who has been battling an injured left arm for the last couple of weeks, I agree completely with the lefty vs righty assessment!
