Forgiveness and Permission, page 10 of tags.

Also, on page 15 it has "Fall For Best Friend"."

Those work in context, so you can use them.

In context, I might accept that tag. But in the case of the book you posted it doesn't work at all. Sorry.

Amanda (bookoutbelow) | 4053 comments Hey Kat,

So if the only edition that has a page count is the paperback edition, can we use that page count? It's an arc that comes out tomorrow, so there's a chance Amazon will add the page count then, but for now it's just the paperback edition that has a page count.

Thanks!

Yes, you can. Please just comment that the only available page count is the paperback edition.

Could I use this book for the B is for Buddy prompt?

It's tagged as friends to lovers by 2 people on the first page of top shelves - last tag in the first column.

It's a weird one to really categorize as one side of the love triangle is enemies to lovers and the other is friends to lovers as well as second chance, AND its the second book in a duet ..... freaking Siobhan Davis squeezing in like EVERYTHING in her books LOL

Let Me Love You

That would qualify as MPG Romance, but I see nothing that would make it work for the current task. The book appears to be about friendship and is tagged as such, not as friends to lovers.

Maggie Robinson (librariansdaughter77) | 1485 comments Hi Kat,

Me again.

I think this one will be a "no" but thought I would check.

I have the ARC for Jock Royal. Jock Royal (Jock Hard, #4) by Sara Ney

There is a line in the precis at the end that reads "He is the best friend I didn’t know I needed."

It's also tagged as "enemies to friends to lovers" on the top shelves - first column, 24th tag down. Jock Royal Tags

Would this one work for this week?

That would actually work because the precis supports it, so it is in context. But it needs to have a page count and there isn't one listed, you can include a link to the Amazon page if one doesn't show on GR.

MountainKat | 31636 comments ‼️ PLEASE READ‼️

I have a few requests for your completion posts.

✱ If you are reposting for a correction, please make sure the message is clearly identified as a repost!

✱ If there is no Kindle page count listed, please check to see if Amazon has a page count listed for their Kindle edition. If there is a page count there, please include a link to the Amazon page for the book in your completion post. If there is nothing listed on Amazon, please mention in your completion post that you are using the ebook, paperback or whatever edition page count because that is the only available option.

✱ Please link to the top shelves page for your qualifying tag, not the page for books shelved with the same tag. For example, I am looking for this page for the book Magic Strikes (already claimed for SH):
Tops shelves page -
https://www.goodreads.com/work/shelve...

NOT this page: Shelf page -
https://www.goodreads.com/genres/frie...

The shelf page still leaves me looking for the book to confirm your qualification and if I have to look much at all, I will request an update and repost for your book to count!

✱ If you also tag a book with your selected qualifying tag, especially if there is only one tag, your tag WILL move - sometimes considerably. Please check your link after you have tagged the book. If I have to search too much to find your qualification, I will request your completion be updated and repost for your book to count!

✱ Please double check your links when making your completion posts!

❤️ Thank you! ❤️

MountainKat | 31636 comments Date 2 - A - Tasks: Breakdown of the qualifications for possible tasks for Date 2.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.

Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!

You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.

A is for Abacus - Read a book featuring a geek or nerd character or a MC who works in a STEM field.

To qualify for this task, the title, précis, list or tag would need to indicate that the selected book has a geek or nerd (or brainy or intelligent) MC or that an MC works in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Qualification can come from the title, precis, tags or lists.

A is for Amethyst - Read a book with a purple cover.

To qualify, the cover needs to be primarily a shade of purple. Include the qualifying cover in your completion post. You can use any edition's cover to qualify. If in doubt, please ask.

A is for Apostrophe - Read a book with a type of punctuation in the title or series title.

To qualify for this task the selected books title or series title needs to have punctuation included. When using the series title, it must be a series listed on GR and the punctuation need to be in the series title itself, not the comma separating the title and the number of the selected book in the series. Here is a list of acceptable types of punctuation for this task.

A is for Army - Read a book with a military or former military character.

To qualify for this task, the book needs to have a character that is active or former military. This can be indicated in the precis, title, series, tags or lists. The following tags/lists are examples of what will be allowed: military, vet (not implying veterinarian), veteran, soldier, navy, army, air force, marines, SEAL, Army Ranger, fighter pilot. Combo tags will be allowed IN CONTEXT - so if your book is tagged 'cops_firemen_military', but the precis indicates the hero is a sheriff for example (or even if all the other tags just indicate law enforcement), the book will be disqualified. I strongly suggest you find other qualification if possible - I will be SUPER PICKY with the combo tags.

message 68: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31636 comments Chan wrote: "Hi Kat. For Apostrophe will the title and series title count?"

Hmmm, I will allow series title as well and will update the above to include that. To qualify, the series needs to be listed on GR and the punctuation needs to be in title itself - not the comma separating the title from the number as listed on GR.

Yeah, I think the names TinEye uses don't often fit what I see as the colors. One of those grays definitely seems more violet to me! I would put that at over 50% and say it works.

Maggie Robinson (librariansdaughter77) | 1485 comments Roger - president of NBR United - wrote: "would this work for Amethyst [spoilers removed] I suck at color and have no clue on how to use tineye."

Hi Roger, I sent my team a link to TinEye to help us out as well.

To use it, I use the following steps:

1- I enlarge the book cover on GR and then save it to my desktop as an image

2- Access MultiColor Engine

3- Scroll down below the blue "sign up" banner until you see a colorful wall look for the "Upload Your Image" button

4-serach for your saved cover, select your image and "open"

5- the screen should then show your image with a color
breakdown to the right of it. The breakdown will read like this:

33.8% #fab74f Orange
20.9% #ddd8cd Grey
17.3% #ea5c04 Orange
10.4% #6342a0 Violet
9.1% #1f2947 Blue
8.5% #997eb7 Violet

I've only every used TinEye on my laptop which is why the instructions are written as they are.

I hope this helps.

Sorry to break down the steps so much. I do it out of habit from work.

Sorry, these came in while I was answering the other questions and then I missed them. I have a love hate relationship with TinEye. I disagree with their color names more often than not, but I do use it to separate out the different colors to get a better idea of the percentages.

Yes, that cover works.
