So this book has been haunting me for years and years and I can really only remember one scene from it. I believe the cover was blue and yellow and it was a pretty large book, though I was only in fifth grade so maybe it just seemed that way to me. I also think the cover was pretty simple but had a unique name to it. It was my teachers personal book she let me read about the year 2008 though I don’t know the publication or author.
I believe the main character was a large blue creature, bear possibly? I don’t believe he was human. But at some point in the book he crosses these creatures that live in the sand dunes or desert. He joins their group by the fire, not particularly of his own accord. They tell him he must repeat their unrepeatable names perfectly in order for him to remain alive. Their names are ridiculously long as though someone let their child pound out keys on the keyboard, for instance: Redivualnrodjbwnoajjdbe fialjgbelsuhdbnmdkk Sikh. The character repeats one or two of the names, but then gives them his own name to repeat which he completely makes up in the moment. I swear it spanned a whole paragraph. The group of creatures in the desert couldn’t repeat it so they let him live.
Thanks in advanced in anyone knows what I’m talking about.
