Melissa | 3 comments Hello! This is a book (MG or maybe lower YA) I first encountered sometime in the mid- to late 90s. I believe its protagonist has moved to a big, creepy house (possibly one that has been in her family a while, possibly following a personal tragedy), where she finds an even creepier dollhouse. The figures in it move and talk, and if I'm remembering right they may be inhabited by the ghosts of previous inhabitants of the big house. I vaguely recall the book has a VERY creepy ending that possibly implies the protag herself will or has become one of the dolls? But that part I might be misremembering.

Thank you for any leads!

Monica (marticles) | 164 comments This is a bit of a stretch since only a few details match, but I read this one as a child and my memory of it is much creepier than the actuality of the storyline. The Dollhouse Murders.

Florence | 683 comments This is the exact plot of “the un-door”, one of the short stories in Uncle Montagues tales or terror by chris Priestley. It could also be the haunted dolls house by m r hames, though I haven’t read that so couldn’t confirm.

I think it's the Betty Ren Wright mentioned above, but I'll have to check out the Priestley, thanks!

Melissa, I notice your request is marked Solved. What's the title and author of your book?
