Okay, I don't quite understand the new spreadsheet. I had had put three books in it but have two assigned? And which book is for which task? Also one of them was for the party prompt which is considered a hard prompt but it wasn't assigned to my book? I'm sorry, but I'm a little confused.

Karin put "one more" there because she was unsure which prompts your "Midnight Club" book go with. Could you please confirm again? Thank you!
Also she asked everyone to set up a list of their books:
"Please set up ONE message thread to enter your books similar to how we do it for the monthly, quarterly and yearly challenges, I'll note them in a list and put your suggestions. Then you can add another message referencing the first one when you finish books or have new ones to mention."
Sample listYou don't have to do the strike outs, but I am using them to show which books I am not reading because there were too many people for the number of tasks :)
So, to show you what I first had and how it changed as Angie and I planned, etc. One is not yet assigned. Now I can look for other books based on what has been assigned on the spreadsheet so I can read at least 10
Read a book either published in 2012 or included in the Best Books of 2012 listopia. Protection for Hire by Cany Tang (have here now)
Read a book with a title starting with “Y,” the 25th letter of the alphabet (ignore “a” and “the”). Yodelling book ASSIGNED (that's not the title) (and Alyana will read the L book as she and I discussed in this thread since we both had one of each :) )
Read a book with the word ‘silver’ in the title or with a silver cover. ASSIGNED -The Silver Pigs
Read a book in a series of 4 (25% of a series)- ASSIGNED
One More Announcement :) I thought of this during my shower (off to work in a few minutes) and during that time Angie PM'd me this same point, so I'll go for "great minds think alike."
On the Spreadsheet, Angie or I will enter the information.
On the Tracking Sheet - everyone enters their information. But the names are in a different order since I didn't set this one up, so watch carefully :)
You'll see (which I didn't see all of us during the migraine-from-hell that was beyond my "normal" ones) that you can enter your daily pages, hours and, if you finish your task, you can mark it below.
For the multi-book ones, please enter Completed in the top available row under your name, but it would be really great if you could also mark your list with a check or something and also let us know :)
Don't forget to reserve a spot for your lists :)

If I had known you wouldn't want to use that book for the readathon I would have finished it days ago. It's unnecessarily complicated. The previous one was much simpler, at least to me. I'm sorry, maybe I'm just dumb.

There might still be a way to fit it in. Karin is our captain and ultimately it's her call to set up the spreadsheet. I can't make any decisions without talking to her first. Please bear with us, while she/we work(s) something out.
Karin/AngieI put in for 4 books when I signed up, but now that I see how things are done, I can do more than this. So ...
Unless someone else wants these:
I can take prompt 11 A book written when the author was under 25 years old. The book: Coward's Kiss
I can also do prompt 20: title consisting of 25 characters minimum. The book: The Cat The Quilt and the Corpse.
I can also do prompt 25: A book written by an author who has written 25 or more books. The book: Miss Silver Came to Stay.
If you see places where we are lacking, let me know and I'll be glad to see if I can find something to help fill the prompt. This is all I'm working on for the next couple of weeks so I won't have any problems reading.
I'll be reading first thing in the morning Coward's Kiss for Prompt 13 published 1996 and will report in tomorrow afternoon on my progress.
You're both doing a great job 💜

Also one of them was for t..."Smezana, our guideline was to only assign 1-3 tasks and I went by the initial pledges only to keep it consistant. Of course you can read more as you finish your tasks. My initial pledge was to read at least 10 books which I know I can easily do, but only gave myself three tasks to start, so not to worry, you'll get more! I went from a list Angie helped me by working through first which took time and care from her, and then made some hard choices.
Would you like to switch tasks if no one is assigned that? I won't be on again until tomorrow, so won't be assigning that task to anyone yet. Please feel free to PM me so I can know from my email before I come here and see, but start with a different book task first.
If you set up your list as I asked and put that book there, I will be checking these as people finish their assigned prompts. As soon as you complete your first assigned one, I'll add another for you.
The book you read for that prompt will be whichever book fits that prompt, as Angie said :)
The planning sheet is what everyone is going to read first.

I'll keep this in mind. Could you edit your list and take out "I can do" and list the task first and then with the books? My list wasn't well done, but I was rushing to teach piano to the family I teach live at their house (they homeschool and we are all very safe, etc).
Avery wrote: "Avery’s List- Midnight club- book that features 2+ people reading, book by an author with 25+ books

Okay, great--I'll update that second task on the spreadsheet for the book we have already chosen (that was Angie, and many thanks to her!) I have to see it to make that choice and don't have much time on here to come back and forth.
One more thing, just in case I forgot this earlier. When looking for other books to read, first check the planning sheet to see what has been assigned and/or completed. If you like, you can check people's lists, but one of the things I am going to try to do tomorrow is to find books that fill more than one prompt. It's a challenge to juggle everyone's books when so many of us have books that fill the same tasks; also, it is possible two people will choose a book for the same difficult task.
Angie suggested, and I agree, that I'll explain about how these assignments are made.As you probably all know from the rules, one book can only count for one task. If you choose a book that can fit multiple tasks that helps because it makes it easier for me as team captain to work with so you are more likely to be able to read it. But I can't assign more than one person to each task. Some prompts have more than one task, but there is a limit.
So, for one book tasks, only one person can read one book for them, thus I have only assigned one person and for each person's book, just one task. For prompts that require 2, 3 or 4 tasks to complete, then more than one person will be assigned that prompt.
Angie helped by giving me some of the book titles and the possible prompts, but ultimately as captain I need to try and assign them so that we can cover all of the tasks. Like some of you, I am not going to be able to read every book I had hoped to for this; already I won't be able to read at least two of the ones I had hoped to so that everyone could have assignments. I made an arbitrary decision about how many tasks to assign so that the really fast readers who pledged a lot can finish a book every day or two.
When I had my unusual mega-migraine someone started changing the spreadsheet in a way that differed from the group moderators' intent.
Everyone has at least one task assigned now, and as I said, no matter how many you are assigned now, you can read more, but bear in mind that there are only so many spots per prompt.
Updated msg#148.1. Magpie Murders ✅
Read 4 books that feature a bibliophile, bookworm, librarian, or bookshop.
Will update the spreadsheet later.
I'm sorry, I was only wishing to help us with what I considered a difficult prompt. I have adjusted my books according to the tasks assigned to me.Happy readathon everybody! 😊
Updated msg#148.2. Never Let Me Go ✅
Read 3 books you shelved during the month you joined this group.
Overall, 2 books finished.
@Karin/Angie, could you please assign my next prompts? I’m more than half-way through Wonder, so I’d prefer reading it over any other book, but feel free to assign any prompt(s). I can finish about 2 prompts tomorrow but you don’t have to assign 2 if you want to save it for the others; I can continue to read outside of the readathon. Since I’m free now, I’ll continue with Wonder or pick up Beneath the Sugar Sky.
Also, please correct me if I’m wrong- I’m only supposed to update my page count on the tracking sheet and nothing else, is that right? One of you will be updating the planning sheet and marking the prompts complete on the tracking sheet? Is my understanding correct?
PS: Happy readathon everyone!

Wow, you're so fast Trisha! Congrats on finishing your first two books!
Karin does the assignments. I'm sure she will get in touch as soon as possible.

It's fine because I will post Thursday's numbers on Friday before 6 pm (4 pm your time). That will give everyone time to post Thursday's updates even if we have someone from Hawaii :).
I can be on 3-4 times a day, but not for really long, so will gather info as I go and do my best to get the next assignment. That way I can check for those in the Europe and east Asia, ideally before their evenings that day. I am not sure where everyone lives as I didn't check all of that out.

Yes, I'll work on it now. I still have to search up your list of books and prompts. It will be my mission for this session checking in.

@Trisha--I gave you three more and marked the two you had complete. Yes, if you could update the Tracking. Is 322 pages your total or are there more? I'll do the official update later today. I forgot where you are, so am going to try to make sure you have more to allow for the 12 hours difference at this time of year.I will try to check in between 10 and 11 am my time--usually before that I am tied up with stuff I need to do. If there is a morning I can't do that, I'll ask Angie to check yours for you.
If anyone needs help organizing their lists, Trisha's is message 148 and very easy to read--I plan to model mine after hers (but then I know mine and will know more as I order more books today).

You can record both the pages and audio hours but not for the same content (chapters).
So say there’s a 250 pages book and you read the first 100 pages, then switch to the audio and listen for 2hours, then switch again to your physical book and read another 50 pages - in this scenario, your record should show:
150 pages & 2 hours. So fill in both the values in the right cells.
We just need to avoid duplications. Are you good?
Sorry Karin, answered in your place. This is a question quite a few teams have had, so I’ve my answer by heart.

Avery, I will use this book for your other assignment, but there are already other people in line to read a book written by an author for 25+ years, so can't guarantee you another spot. The idea is to share those among more than one person unless we get to the very end and a spot is open that won't be filled.
Let me look at everything after everyone has reported.
Could you make a message with all of your books with all of your requests? I don't see you in my Word sheet, so I didn't find one after I requested it back in the 140s.
@TrishaCould you add all of the possible shelves for your books? At least one of those hard to fill spots has more people wanting to read it than there are spots.
ReminderIt is probably not going to be possible for everyone to read every book on their lists, so if you can find more books and add them, that would be great. Also, if you can find all of the possible shelves--I don't have time to look all of that up for each person's book.
For example, as it stands right now, 4 people have books with titles of at least 25 characters and there are only 2 spots. One is already assigned.
Plus, for the duets, trios and quartets, the first choice is to divide those with 2, 3 or 4 people per prompt. This doesn't mean that will necessarily happen, but I will be giving priority to team members who have not yet been assigned or completed a task for one of those prompts.
Karin wrote: "@TrishaCould you add all of the possible shelves for your books? At least one of those hard to fill spots has more people wanting to read it than there are spots."
Alright Karin, I’ll do that asap!
Karin, I've updated my post as requested. Let me know if you're expecting anything else.I've also updated my link in the spreadsheet like Alyana did.

Trisha wrote: "Karin, I've updated my post as requested. Let me know if you're expecting anything else.I've also updated my link in the spreadsheet like Alyana did."
Thanks, that's helpful.
No one has to put all of the tasks, but I am trying to help everyone read as many of the books they have as I can.
Way to go, everyone :)! Not everyone has checked in yet, so I will wait to post our numbers until after 5:30 Boston time, but so far everyone has read (just waiting for Alyana's numbers whenever she is able to get here), we have earned one wildcard (I'll save this until we really need it, of course), and we have completed 4 prompts plus the wildcard which means 5! There is no point in using wildcards until we know which prompt(s) we might have trouble filling.Happy Reading :)!

I'll be doing mostly audiobooks, the only physical copy I have is my L book but I'll be reading a bit on my kindle before bedtime as I can't pick it up during the day because my kid is attending class remotely. I hope that is okay.
Edit:
The book The Girls I've Been that I started a few days ago can be counted as has at least 25 or more chapters so I'll be adding the hours that I listened to it yesterday as well.
