A Model Escort is a perfectly pleasant M/M romance between two damaged individuals who find something special in each other - which describes many romances. It’s definitely slow burn and, given that one of the MCs is having sex for money, there’s very little sex in the book. What sex there is - how shall I put this - is very discreetly worded.
In case anyone is curious, Poppy enjoyed it, too. :)

Yeah - going back to work tomorrow is going to be a bummer, lol.
Teresa, I think you're the only one of us who's played this before, so I suspect you'll know the answer to my question.
I read that no matter how quickly a group finished their 1st task, today was the first possible time a new task would be posted - 2 days, more or less.
Does that mean that the it'll be another two days (Friday) before new tasks are given to teams or will it simply be whenever we finish? I swear I looked, but I couldn't track down the answer.
Thanks!

Lots of miscommunication and interfering families. I didn’t like either Adam’s or Ryan’s family. I liked Julia and Daniel Murray as well as Adam and Ryan themselves, to a degree. Sex was lacklustre but I liked the courtroom drama. Yet another book where Omegas are at bottom of society with less options than women. This is my first book by this author but I think it may be my last.

Review:
Loved it, it was such a fun book. The MCs were brilliant, they were such a great match and really balanced each other out. I expected the plot to be a little over the top (the blurb does warn you) and it was, but it wasn't too crazy. It was genuinely funny and extremely original. I spent far too long googling dinosaurs to see what Dalton and the team looked like in their shifted forms. Speaking of the team, I loved them all and really, really hope they'll be getting their own books.

I found it in the rules. New tasks are posted every other day, so the teams that finished Task #1 (and the one team to finish Task #2) today wait until tomorrow to get their next task. After that, tasks will be assigned on Sunday, Tuesday, etc.
Teresa, I read an Aiden Bates book a while back and thought it was ok - but just ok (fortunately it wasn't A/B/O). Your comments make me even less likely to try another.
Smash & Grab has been on my radar, Filipa, but I haven't gotten around to it. Maybe I do need to start using the Want To Read/TBR shelf - it's too easy to forget things.

I've got GR and a spreadsheet to keep track of books and challenges and I still forget things. 😂
Highly recommend Smash & Grab, it was really fun.

Adding to my TBR. :)

Review - This one was just okay. Read more like a fanfiction than a book to me. (come to find out book was originally posted on WattPad, so this made sense). Very slow burn book, with likeable characters, even if heroine is too perfect at times. MC's are all still in high school, this is something I have not read in awhile so it was a refreshing change.

Does that mean that the it'll be another two days (Friday) before new tasks are given to teams or will it simply be whenever we finish? I swear I looked, but I couldn't track down the answer.
Thanks!"
It is really very simple. The first task was assigned on the 15, the earliest next task would be assigned is the 17 even Task 1 was finished on the 16. In your case Task 2 was assigned on the 17, so today (19th) is the soonest you could get Task 3 - and you are going to get that in just a minute. 😊 If you finish Task 3 tomorrow (20th) you would have to wait until the 21st to get Task 4. On the other hand if you don't finish until the 22nd, you would get the task as soon as I see your completion and confirm but then the soonest you could get the following task would be the 24th. So it can be longer than every second day, but it can't be less. Does that make sense?
And I make an attempt to check the Q&A thread at least twice a day, earlier in the day and again in the evening. Often it is more than that, but I try to keep that as a minimum - at least until things open up more and I can go places again!

Task 3 - 11. Read 4 books in continuing series, one that has not been completely published.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be in series that are not completely published yet or are ongoing. So the second book in a trilogy where the third is coming out later this year would work or a book in a series such as In Death that is ongoing would also work. Please include in your completion post a link to the series page to show that the series is not completed yet, i.e. expected future publication date on a later book or description as a trilogy with only two books listed.

I’m on my phone, so this won’t post correctly, but I’ll be reading Featherbed by Annabeth Albert, the first book in the new Vino & Veritas series, most of which has yet to be published. It’s short (189 pages),so I should finish tonight.

⭐⭐⭐
Featherbed by Annabeth Albert is very low key and low angst. In fact, it’s so low key and low angst that very little happens in this short novel. That said, it’s a very pleasant tale of two guys who think they don’t want/can’t have/don’t deserve a long term romantic relationship and their mutual discovery that they might be wrong. And I liked the ducklings. And the cover.
Each of the novels in this series is to be written by a different author, and I’m curious to see what some of them come up with. I’ll continue, for now.

I loved this start to a new series!! Sam is average but so sweet even after the abuse of his family. Alistair is prickly for good reason but still mostly kind to Sam. I loved seeing them together. I loved the setting and although this book tackles many different problems and issues, I could feel the care the Gattis had for each other in their little family. I am so looking forward to more in this world.

Review:
A really intriguing and engaging story. It was fast-paced and I was entertained throughout. Kim was a very complex character, and even though I'm not completely sure how I feel about him, I definitely want to know more. This felt like just the very beginning of their story. The mystery was great and I really liked the secondary characters. I'm looking forward to the next book.

This sounds great!

And I liked Slippery Creatures, too. I've got The Sugared Game, but have been delaying reading it because the third book isn't out until June.
Btw, Filipa, I've got another author to add to the writes under two names list: J.A. Rock / Ace Regent.

Good point, at least the first book didn't end in a cliffhanger. I'm really hoping for Kim's POV eventually.

I also an waiting on the Sugared Game. I will have to reread book one though, because while I know I read it, I can't quite remember it. But I really like KJ Charles as a whole.
Blind Tiger was good. A different feel than the Hexworld books but similar themes of found family.

Interesting start to a new series. I have read and enjoyed books by the author previously and this was no exception. Interesting story line and very interesting and diverse characters. Loved getting to know about all 4 MC's and look forward to reading more from this series. Highly recommend if you enjoy multiple MC's / Harem style books with a slave fic type twist.

Task 4 - 29. Read over 750 pages in books about the same profession, teams decide which profession.
Professions such as LEO, military or musicians are ok. Just don't try to pass off a rancher and a chef as both being in the food industry - they are just too far apart! Please include the selected profession in your completion posts. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.

We picked Law Enforecement, as I recall. I have several choices, and I'm assuming that only one MC has to be in the profession. I may not post a book until I'm certain I like it.
Teresa and Filipa - when I recently read Slippery Creatures, it was the second time for me. I read the ebook version last July, and listened to it this time. I remembered what had happened more or less, but decided a refresh wouldn't hurt before I went on the The Sugared Game. Yay rereads, indeed!
KellyJo - I am so sorry about your plumbing issues! I hope everything is fixed now.

I've got a page count / Kindle edition question for this one, so I'll post when I get an answer. My page count will probably be either 299 or 320.

I'm on my phone right now so I'll update everything later today.

I’ve been reading the In Death… books for years and have read all but the most recent two (#51 and #52). I decided a reread was in order and I am making very slow progress. As I recall, some of the books are excellent and others, merely ok. Rapture in Death better than ok, but only marginally. I both listened to and read Rapture in Death, and I think that was a mistake. I’m too familiar with the series to be happy with anyone’s vocal interpretations of how the characters should sound - I’ll avoid audio versions in the future.

Review - I love this series. This book has definite Cut & Run vibes and maybe that is why I like it so much, since that is one of my favorite series. This book has lots of action and steam, with two alpha main MC's. This book really sets up the series well and I look forward to reading the whole series and finding out more about the MC's and all the questions that have been left unanswered.

Review:
I love this series, not only is the mystery and the action pretty great but the characters are amazing as well. Cooper is still a neurotic mess and Park as steady, but they are as complex as ever. Their relationship was a focal point in this book and we got a lot more background story as well. Hoping there will be more books in this series.

I started one. The problem is that I'm almost finished - then I have to decide again, lol.
Btw, if I'm counting correctly, it looks as though we were the 5th team to post completion of task four - we're doing rather well!

Task 5 - 9. Each player reads a book in the same series, teams decide. No pass for this task.
As a team, decide on a series listed on GR and everyone reads a book in that series. You can read the same or different books for this task. Please include the selected series in your completion posts. Series such as 1001 Dark Nights are not acceptable for this task.
