It took me forever to get into this book. Once I got into it I liked it. The end turned out better then I thought it would.

I was glad this book was easy to get into, because work is crazy right now - so this was a fun escape.

Suzanne | 514 comments Sorry I had to edit that - I know it makes it harder to get from notifications! I had the wrong page for the Irish tag.

message 54: by April (new)

April Raimond | 1422 comments I posted our completion. I will most likely be busy the rest of the day. I will try to jump on to check if we need to do anything.

Can you go and paste the page where it is tagged 13 times? So she can just click on that page.

Suzanne | 514 comments Sure - I'll do that right now. Thanks for posting our completion.

MountainKat | 31597 comments Here is your next task!

Task 2 - 6. Read 4 books with fewer than 500 reviews.

Each of you selects a book with fewer than 500 reviews - not ratings! You can find this number on the main book page under the title. Please include the number of reviews in your completion posts. If the book might go over 500 reviews while you are reading, if it has over 490 reviews already for example, a screenshot would be advisable. 😊

Sorry for the extra delay, there was a snafu at the vaccination site and our appointments were delayed a couple of hours, but that is better than a couple of days!

I'll be back shortly with my pick.

Suzanne | 514 comments I'm going to read Death on Deadline (Rex Stout's Nero Wolfe Mysteries #2) by Robert Goldsborough . I know it's not romance, but it's useful for another challenge, and I checked the rules :)

It currently has 79 reviews.

message 67: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 514 comments I'm trying to figure out page numbers to use - there isn't a "kindle first" edition or a kindle edition published on the date of release. Looking for the "earliest dated" kindle edition - there are two entries published on the earliest date - one has 208 pages and one has 240 pages. Do you ladies know which I should use? Or should I ask in the Q&A?

message 68: by April (new)

April Raimond | 1422 comments I would ask Kat because yea that one that is on same day but different page count. And there isn't one that was before that.

Noah wakes up in a cabin in Colorado with no memory of who he is or who the guy at the cabin with him could be. Despite Jason's care and affection, Noah feels something unsettling about him and knows that there is more to their story than Jason is willing to reveal.

I enjoyed this one. I figured out most of the twists and turns early and easily, but I think that may have actually increased my ability to just sit back and savor the story as it unfolded. There are a couple of times the story drags unnecessarily but overall it was a nice romantic mystery.

18. Read over 750 pages in books tagged/shelved with 'favorite'.

Books selected for this task must be tagged/shelved as 'favorite'. Variations of the word and spelling are allowed. 'Favorite' combined with other words will be allowed in context - 'favorite hero' would be acceptable, 'not my favorite' would not be. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count!

This was the final installment in the Lux series and it was just kind of "meh" for me. The whole thing could have been cut down to about 100 pages and tacked on to the end of the previous book. Also, I know these are horny high school kids, but they're frequently in the middle of serious, run-for-your life, life-or-death situations but stop for sexy times or dirty talk WAY too often for the environment they're in. It was cringey and took away from the "fighting against world invasion" action that was propelling the rest of the story.

I've read this series off and on - usually a year or so between books. I'm not sure why, because when I pick one up, I laugh a lot The main character has such an attitude, and there were lots of silly events. And the grandma is hilarious.

Review: A continuation of the mortal instruments series. At first I was confused until I started remembering what had happened in the previous book. There are more demonic happenings and Simon struggles with being a vampire and his place among the Clave. Jace and Clary have tension in their relationship but all is solved at the end. I thought I would be bored of this series by now but after getting back on track with the story it was a good read.
