I'll give it a go!
Is it just one chess piece for the whole month (like once you get to the end you've completed the challenge)? Or do you restart with a new piece once you get to the end?

@Noor: It's one chess piece you move - but if you know you'll be finished too soon, you could start with a second piece (or more) of you like :-) Just use a second colour/symbol for the other piece's moves.
@Naomi: You save the blank version to your device, edit in where your piece moved to, upload it to imgbb or some place and link it in your post :-) Hope that helps :-)
Welcome to the challenge, everyone!

Hello everyone,
sorry for being such an absent challenge mod in June.
Welcome to the challenge, all!
I'll update everything tomorrow evening and promise to be more present in July!

The picture is fine I just can't upload the edited one from my end :/ The image address surpasses the character limit lmao so I have to find a way to get the same image with a shorter link

I tried it. Can you see the image on goodreads? It says img error for me

No, sadly not.
If you're using their provided link html link, try removing the referral part so that you only have the img src bit itself. And also make sure you get all the "" in place.
Sometimes Goodreads seems to be weird about things directing off of Goodreads.

Wow! everyone, aside from myself, seems to be going for 2nd or 3rd rounds! That's so impressive - I've no idea where you guys take the time from.

The secret for me is procrastinating on everything else, so reading this much is definitely not a good thing lmaoo

That is something of a relief to hear, Noor ^^'
So, the challenge is over. I'll leave it open until August 2nd so anyone can still update final chess moves they didn't get around to posting yet.
As far as I can see, Noor definitely rocked this challenge the hardest, with Blobbie close behind. Congratulations to your impressive runs!

Registration:
Everyone can join in at any given time of the duration of the challenge, just by saying so in this topic. Registration will begin in the last week of June.
Rules:
1) Read books to move your imaginary chess piece across the board to reach the other side. Everybody starts off the board.
2) Any book counts as long as it's finished in May.
3) How many fields you can move and in which direction(s) depends on the length of the book you finish.
4) Make a post with the empty chessboard image in this topic at the beginning of the challenge. Edit that post for each book you finish with a) where your little chess piece is now and b) add the books you read to move it there as a list below with their pages.
5) Have fun!

I'm aware of the fact that the rules of movement for the chess pieces in our challenge don't reflect the actual capacities of the pieces in chess. But I didn't want this to be too easy, after all. ;-)
