I apologize for my ignorance in my previous post. Was not sure of the genre.
Back around 1979, I had a paperback book. It was a silly collection of various things arranged like an encyclopedia. The only thing I specifically remember was for a nonsense game, 'Stoopglommen'. I think the title of the book was something like 'The Absurd Encyclopedia' or similar. It was written in English, I remember there were funny line drawings accompanying articles. Not sure of the target audience age, possibly teen or young adult. It appealed to the kid in me. I have been unsuccessful to find it on internet searches. I'm hoping to be able to get a copy to send to an old friend for nostalgic sake.

My email address is: ronaldcaudillo@yahoo.com
Any help would be wonderful. If you have any information, please email me with 'Stoopglommen' as the title.

Thank you all very much!
Ron Caudillo

Ronald, please make sure you check the box next to "Notify me when people reply" below. That way you get notifications sent to your email or a notification inside the GR system. We prefer people communicate inside the group about their book queries, not outside via emails.

Ronald, is this book for kids, teens or adults? Is it written in English?

Illustrations?

I added some details to the header/topic title. You can update it by clicking the small "edit" link after the header. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app. (On the Mobile website, click the "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page.)

Thank you very much! I will look to getting a copy to check it out. Will let all know when I do! In the meantime, I will still appreciate any other leads!

Reba Mbear | 7 comments I read a similar book in the same timeframe - The Portmanteau Book by Thomas Rockwell. The cover is memorable - a quick search may help confirm/deny the identity. One memorable snippet involved rolling out wax paper, putting down a layer of sliced bread, then mustard, then rolling up a friend or sibling.

Nicole | 48 comments Could it be the Oxford Roald Dahl Dictionary?
ETA: Actually that might be too recent, even though Roald Dahl passed a while ago. Sorry.

Ronald Caudillo | 7 comments Thank you Joseph! That was it! I ordered the book and it's the ONE! The Absurdly Silly Encyclopedia & Fly Swatter by Jovial Bob Stine. Illustrations by Bob K. Taylor. 1978. No ISBN that I can see.

Not sure how to move this to SOLVED.

Glad you found your book, Ronald. I moved your request to a Solved folder by clicking the small "edit" link after the header/topic title. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app.
