Yeah, I once went through my TBR and it turned out I had a lot of books on there which I really wasn't interested in reading anymore. I removed quite a lot of them that day, but considering that I add atleast one book there every day, it wasn't much of a change...

I do this regularly, i often just add books to my tbr that everyone loves but i‘m not really interested in

Yes, well that is exactly why me getting a new kindle got cancelled. Even though I was previously promised that I'd get both a new phone and a kindle, new I'll either get a phone or a kindle. I urgently need a phone so I had to choose getting a new phone over my dream Kindle.
