I started watching Bridgerton last night and finished the first season today

Let's just say that I've had seen and read better period romance dramas

Actually this may be controversial, but I think The Selection is better than Bridgerton. But I haven't read Bridgerton. I've only watched the first season of the show and it did a mediocre job with it.

I mean, they could have done so much

And diversity

It's so fake

These peeps of colour in the show, they're just a bunch of white people painted Black or brown.

I mean, they don't have any black heritage or anything behind them

They all just act like British any other white character.

And I get it. The source material did not even have any pocs

And that's exactly why I believe there wasn't any need for the show to have them

Cuz, yk, people tend to mess up pocs for the sake of "representation"

I'd love to see a brown character on a white tv show

But that character has to be relatable to me

She should face all the problems that a brown kid does. Or a half white half brown kid does. Or whatever is her heritage.

Ik there's ONE haldi scene in the second season

But it isn't even accurate

The writers should have at least consulted an actual brown person

And I'd love to see Pocs wearing their traditional attires in the show

Imagine Kate Sharma wearing a silk Saree or an ACTUAL lehenga. Not like the one in the Goblet of Fire movies. But an actual lehenga.
