Loved loved loved this book. I missed me some Sherrilyn! I really need to get more into this series and catch up on the dark hunter one. I am afraid though if I read them though I will get caught up and I don't want to be caught up yet. I don't have the next couple of books of the leagues series so I do need to work on getting those. This one was about Syn and Shahara I really liked the characters they were both hard and stubborn which is a lot like me, so I totally understand not wanting to talk about feelings or getting hurt. Other than traveling through space and seeing other planets there isn't much to the alien or Sci-fi part, I am hoping that changes in the future. I always love Sherrilyn's books and want to see much more of this world. We went away a little bit from the league but I think we will go right back and I did check there is a book for Caillen which I am very interested in.

A killer wind hurled bitter November air, toothy little knives to gnaw at the bones.
Eve is called to the scene of what appears to be a mugging gone bad. She suspects much more and gets thrown into the world of audits, fraud and death.
This is an excellent addition to the series. I love how Eve's mind works and how she can puzzle out the most complex clues. It was really nice to have Roarke onboard with his financial expertise. HE knows the legit and the not so legit way of getting around money.
Peabody grows a bit in each installment. I love how she plays off of Eve. She is becoming quite the detective as well.
I love Eve's singlemindedness in trying to get the culprit/culprits charged with as many crimes as possible. I think it helps the voices in her dreams to be more at peace.
I simply cannot say enough good this about this series. I'm sorry I waited so long to start reading it. I highly recommend it and I'm off to read another!

He was sick to death of her nagging.
Wow! It's rare that Eve knows who the killer is from the start. Now her job is to run him to ground before he kills again.
This story was a bit hard to read. The killer has spent his entire life blaming others for his shortcomings. Once he lashes out to kill there is no going back. He has an extensive list of people he feels have wronged him. He can't see that the common denominator is him.
The setting around Thanksgiving and the gathering of family was utilized quite a bit. Roarke's family is arriving from Ireland for the holiday. Eve is already in a tizzy about that when she picks up this case. The combination creates lots of emotion for Eve although she doesn't spiral into nightmares.
Eve and Roarke are such a perfect pair. I love that they each have flaws and they argue but still come back to each other stronger than they were before.
The e-boys got a bit of a run in this book. I love watching them work. I'm happy that Roarke is accepted by the division and appreciates his input.
I always enjoy seeing people from past books show up. Nixie about did me in. I'm so glad that Eve is able to see the difference she makes in victims' lives.
I know I tend to gush a bit over this series but I think it is well worth it.
I highly recommend this series!

I know!! I went back and read some of my reviews and counted how many times I said ‘love’. It was kinda funny. I also saw I didn’t review three books. Need to fix that. Good thing I keep a journal.

Week 2 — Sci-Fi Romance

Review — I always enjoy Eve Langlais stories and this one is no exception—it’s just the first alien story I’ve read by her. It was a cute story with some super funny moments. Overall I enjoyed the world building, but the story was a bit disjointed and Diana was difficult to like. Kor, on the other hand, was a doll! I look forward to meeting the other two couples in this series and seeing what else is in store for these warriors and their mates.

Review — I wish this book was a bit better developed, but still it progressed the story of the lightning-struck women well. Becca and Hunter are a good match and I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop. There was so much going on though, I feel like some character development was lost in the shuffle. I look forward to reading Leslie’s novella before jumping into the next installment!

Review: This somehow managed to be a sometimes bleak dark fantasy but also hilarious and heartwarming at the same time. The world is full of unspeakably scary things yet never takes itself too seriously. The action takes a while to get going, but once the band is reunited and the quest starts in earnest things pick up. I especially enjoyed that family was at the heart of this story. It had some fantastic laugh out loud moments and some beautiful lines that will stay with me for a long time.

Loved getting back into the Dresden files, I am glad I picked this one up before I continued on with the series because there is the last short story that I feel is an important side story for especially what happened in the last book which I don't want to touch on to much here, I liked some of the other stories the one from his brothers perspective. Him trying to have a day off. I missed this series and need to pick up and catch up to the most recent one. I was upset with the last one and how they left it but I need to get back in and figure out what happens because obviously something does because the series continues.

Review — This was a very sweet book. Not quite as down and dirty as some of its previous installments, which is fine. I really loved Ruby! She was such a strong character, but not a pushover. Niall is a complex character and not the typical alpha business man. His failed marriage has made him extremely gunshy and Ruby is almost more than he can handle at times. The story built well when the couple was coming together in New York, but started to fall apart and move too quickly when they were back in London. I appreciate that Ruby stood up for herself and did not allow anyone to break her. I hope to see more of these two in upcoming installments.

Review — Another great book in this series! Again there was a lot packed into a short book, but I think it was presented well and advanced the series nicely. I really love Luca! Who couldn’t love a man that lets his nieces paint his nails and give him a yogurt facial? Not to mention takes custody of them after his brother is killed in action and sister-in-law died shortly after from cancer. Abby is a likable character, but it takes a while to really understand her. The pain she endured runs deep and it can be felt as she tells the story to Luca, Percy, and Cora.

"I want my sisters!"
Wow! What a messed up family the MacKilligans are! I was looking forward to this book after reading Charlie's story. Stevie is an unstable prodigy that can do horrific things. In human form she is a small, almost fragile, woman with a fear of bears. Shen is a panda shifter that she thinks is adorable. Together they are amazing. He has jumped up to book boyfriend status.
The ongoing plot with Max and the feral cat made me laugh. I can't wait to see where the story takes her. The Jean-Louis Parker family is just as nuts as the MacKilligans. I enjoy meeting each of them.
I'm glad I have the next book in the series because I NEED to learn more about this crazy brood.
This is an excellent series that I recommend.

I also am struggling to pick my auto-buy book. I thought for sure the Innkeeper Chronicles would be on there but nope. Ugh. I think I’m hitting a slump. Going to sleep on it and look again in the morning.
