Review:
Sissy Connors, PhD, checked her GPS, adjusted her backpack, and continued her trek into the mountains.
It's never good when the FBI show up in Aspen Creek looking for an alliance with the werewolves. Wild Sign, an off the grid community, is missing all of its townspeople. They have simply vanished. The land is listed as being owned by Leah, Bran's mate. Charles, Anna and the berserker, Tag are sent to investigate.
Wow! What a powerful story! I read through it so fast that I had to go back and make myself slow down and savor it a second time. Anna and Charles have one of the most amazing relationships in urban fantasy. The way that they compliment and support each other makes me so happy. Throw in Colin "Tag" Taggert and you have a force to be reckoned with.
We learn Leah's background in this book and how she came to be Bran's mate. I still don't like her as a character but I do at least sympathize with how she came to be the way she is. (Note: I re-read my review of Burn Bright and I may have mentioned several times that I pretty much hated her).
The characters in this series grow with each book. I love being able to spend time with them and learn new things about their lives. The secondary characters are well done. The storyline flows well and I feel apart of the plot. I enjoy when characters from Mercy's world are pulled into the Marrok pack. It's like visiting old friends.
The ending is a cliffhanger which has me chomping at the bit to read the next book. Alas, it will be a while before that can happen.
This is a wonderful series that I highly recommend.

I am thinking I will finish my shapeshifters book sometime this weekend sorry this one has been slow going and not holding my attention much I should probably just give up on the series but I feel like I am invested after 8 books and is hard to.
I should make a good dent into my auto buy book and maybe even start this one as well.

Review:
"Are you okay, Mercy?"
The answer to that question would be a solid no. Mercy is dealing with issues in her marriage, a doorway to Underhill in her backyard, rogue werewolves, a stalker, and a killer bunny.
Elizaveta's death curse to Adam from Storm Cursed leaves him reeling and shutting down his mate bond with Mercy. It takes her a bit to chip away at the reason behind Adam's distancing himself from her. In true Mercy fashion, she attacks the problem head on.
Underhill allowing a magical being to escape is devious and heartbreaking for those attacked by the beast. I have a hard time associating Underhill as the little girl she presents herself as in the real world.
The rogue wolves add another layer of intrigue to the storyline. Who in their right mind thinks they can take over Adam's pack? I was please when Mercy took matters into her own hands even though it upset Adam.
The beast was most unusual and brought back memories of dark fairy tales. It is so difficult to kill something that can vanish in blink of an eye. I felt terrible for the the first victims that had ties to Mercy.
I'm not sure where the storyline is going with Wulfe. He is an enigma. I vacillated between thinking his actions were creepy or hilarious. I'm interested to see where this goes.
This series keeps me on the edge of my seat the whole time i am reading it. It is definitely a one sitting read because I can't put it down.
An excellent addition to the series!

Okay I have tried and this series has just let me down to many times to count after the other author left. I almost DNFed this book on three separate occasions it just feels like the characters are one dimensional and not true to who or what they were. There is hardly any heat between the characters any more and I just find myself not caring what happens to them. I did have a connection to Evalle and her but it just doesn't feel like the same character or voice that she had. When I am invested into a series especially after reading many of the books it is hard and I give the series probably more times to try than I should kind of like with the Anita Blake series but this is kind of like the final straw sorry its not me its you and it is time we part.

Review: I’ll start with my dislikes first. The story dumps you in a scene that provides very little context out of the gate. I really struggled to understand what was going on until a good 50 pages in. I also felt the pacing was atrocious. We spent way too long getting to the climax of this story. And finally, there were some seriously underdeveloped characters.
All that said, I did enjoy the world created here. I liked the general arc and plot. I just felt it needed more worldbuilding and fewer stops on the journey. The plot was bogged down by several catch and escape scenes when one would have sufficed. The magecraft could have been better explained but I still enjoyed how it worked.
Verging on 2, but I rounded up to 3 stars.

Review: This is my second Riley Sager book and I am becoming a big fan. I liked the slow burn mystery here and the unique setting in a famously private uber wealthy historic NYC building. Lots of great imagery, from the gargoyles to the old fashioned elevator. I love the red herrings that make you think you have it all figured out, only to flip the script at the last minute. I thought it had just enough action and creepiness to keep me riveted to the end.

Review — Such a fun start to a new series! This isn’t a romance per se, which is what I normally read, but it has a hit of love in the air at times. Kate is a retired demon hunter who is happily married with two kids in the ‘burbs of California. After about 15 years, though, she is kicked out of retirement and the fun begins! I really loved Kate’s story and incredible sarcasm. There is a lot of potential in this new series and I look forward to seeing where it goes from here.

Review: Just as good the second time around. I can’t believe it had been 8 years since this series started. I adore the Grishaverse and it’s magic, the 2nd Army and the conflict between the Darkling and the King and the people of Ravka. Alina and Mal are thrust into quite the journey and as they come into their power and realize their full abilities it is simply beautiful to witness. I am so excited to see how the show tells their story!

Review — For the most part, this was a great story. I loved getting to know Ramsey better and to understand his backstory. Tara is a good compliment to Ramsey, though I feel like her backstory remains fuzzy. Overall I really enjoyed how this story came together. My one complaint is that it wrapped up way too quickly and, frankly, neatly.

I was needing this in my life!!! I loved the second book and glad I got more and am also glad the part with Tamlin didn't last too long since she is not good with him and he is not good for her. I love how this series has evolved and can not wait for more Nesta and to finally get inside her brain and see what makes her tick. I didn't really like her in the first book she wasn't in the second book to much, we see her a bit more and if I didn't know better I wouldn't like her that much but I have a feeling she has a reason for that anger for that silence/ out cry of frustration. I can't wait to see the heat of it. The sister I am most worried of not liking is Elain because she is so soft spoken and quiet and unsure. I am hoping that is just because she is young and not sure really what she wants and grows out of it but I don't relate to that so I worry I won't like her story as much. Feyre is a fighter obviously I can connect with that and Nesta I feel at the heart is a fighter but has had to shown she is not as not to scare many, so I can get that. Rys we all need a Rys in our life. Finding out what we do about Mor and Azriel I hope there is a happy ending in there for both of them some way but I feel like its going to have to get ugly first. I just feel like it is not the happy ending Azriel is wanting. It was also sad to see some big baddies go, this one was a good follow after the amazing sequel I wasn't sure how it could keep being that great. I already feel like this will be a series that I visit/ reread again and again.

I am currently working on Graceling for magic I should be done with it by this weekend and then I will start on The Beast

The wolf was coming.
Catalina is not only the head of House Baylor now but also the Deputy Warden of Texas. She must work with Alessandro to discover who murdered a member of a group trying to reclaim a portion of Houston known as The Pit. It was good to see Alessandro back even though I wanted to punch him for hurting her in the last book. They do make an amazing team.
We learn about Alessandro's childhood and how he came to be the man (and assassin) he is today. It does explain quite a bit.
I enjoyed seeing other characters pop back in. Particularly Nevada and Connor. Grandma Frida is always a treat. You never know what animal you will meet through Cornelius and the monkey was a sweet addition.
The battles are huge, the betrayal immense and the outcome will lead to the next book.
A rather chilling passage discusses the Osiris serum which was developed during an influenza pandemic. One of the end results was what created the magic the Primes hold. The other results were not so favorable.
I honestly have not read a bad book from the Andrews. Each one gets better and I eagerly await the next one.
An excellent series that I highly recommend.

This was so so, it moved very quickly. Quicker than I thought it should for someone that did not trust many or any at all. I did like Katsa and Po just felt very rushed would have liked to see more of a build there. Throwing Winterblue into the mix was interesting I know the names of the future books so I know she will be in one for the future. I hope we will see more with King Randa and him getting his just deserts it also felt like it was to easy in somethings that happened like there was no struggle or fight it just felt very quick, in plot, in connections. I feel like it could have been more and I have a deeper connection is it was longer possibly. It could be because I read this all in one sitting but I don't think that is quiet it either. I am on the fence about whether or not to continue on, I do see the next one is about someone else I wonder if the same characters are sprinkled through out so we will still see cameo's. I did like Katsa's grace her true grace and Po's I like that it and people are not always what they seem.

I also found out that The Beast is labeled as Kick-ass Heroine, I am going to read this one for that shelf instead

Review:
Neglect could kill a building brick by brick.
During a ceremonial sledgehammer to the wall, Roarke reveals the bodies of two young girls in a building he is planning to renovate. Further investigation uncovers ten more bodies. The building had previously been used as a home for homeless or abandoned children. Eve's past haunts her as she strives to find the murderer.
This was a really hard one to read. The young age of the victims, the number of years they have been missing, and the families that still held out hope for reunions was heartbreaking. Peabody really stepped up for the families with her compassion.
Eve and Peabody are the stars of this investigation. Mavis has a huge part as well by providing information about her life on the streets as a grifter. I love the strength of Eve and Mavis' friendship. It really showed in this storyline.
I love the crush that Eve has on Dennis Mira. It made me smile when she told Roarke that she could totally go for him if Dr. Mira and Roarke were not in the picture.
The plot is very well done and kept me guessing. I imagined a different outcome but really liked the twist.
Roarke and Eve continue to be the most wonderful couple. I loved the Christmas tradition they have started of decorating their personal tree. It is pretty sigh worthy.
An excellent addition to the series.
