Melindam | 4427 comments Just realised that Emerald Blaze (Hidden Legacy, #5) by Ilona Andrews can be used for gun on cover, so if someone has a book with white, men's clothing on the cover, it can be switched.

Sun, Moon, Earth The History of Solar Eclipses, from Omens of Doom to Einstein and Exoplanets by Tyler Nordgren

This was a disappointingly terrible listening experience, though at least short!

Tyler Nordgren, astronomer, the author of the book, is the narrator as well.
He just droned on and on with terrible monotony, draining the subject dry mercilessly. I had to make an effort to stay awake and no matter how hard I tried to concetrate on the subject, on the facts he was presenting, my attention slipped constantly.

So I left the book without rating.

The Nutcracker Curse (Cursed Fairy Tale, #1) by Margo Ryerkerk
The Nutcracker Curse - Margo Ryerkerk
19th of March

* This book was sooo princessy...... too much... More aimed at tweens... I was given the book by the Author to review..... Im trying to think of something nice to say but its so sporadic... like Rainbow.. Snake.... golden nuts..... Unicorn...

Mini Tasks

* A witch is mentioned in the book as being very talented and creating copies of portals.... (if that counts)

* the guard falls in love with the princess so maybe that counts for falling in love with the boss (lol)

I hate books like that esp when you feel like you have to finish it

message 616: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 4427 comments And I thought ... this would be interesting. Funny thing is, maybe it is, but the author-narrator just killed it with his abysmal performance.

I put this book in for the royalty task for now, and then will move it to one of the others as needed.

message 621: by Heather (new)

Heather Carrasco | 842 comments And I've got the sheet updated! I'll try to log on over the weekend to update the sheets as well, but worst case I'll get caught up on Monday.

Fingers crossed I have some time to get some serious reading in! I started the Scandinavia book, and it's one that is translated into English, which I always find tougher when I first start reading. I'm hoping that as the story picks up I can start moving faster through it.

message 622: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 4427 comments Heather! Don't worry, just enjoy your w/e & reading if you can. :)

I am gerting stronger and can get some time in front of a laptop without getting headaches, so I can also do the updates if needed. :)

It's over 50% even if by a close margin (50,4) according to tineye, so we are going to use it as a WD4 for Red 0.

Hello Teamies!

I hope you are all well and having a lovely w/e.

Here is a little update on where we are currently.

- Altogether for the March cards we have read 70 books, we still have 34 to go. And we still need 4 reserves
But we have covered ALL COLOUR AND WD4 CARDS!
AWESOME! :)

- For the Mini Challenge we have covered 25 books, we have 20 to finish

We have 7 tasks yet unspoken for. So please be on the lookout. :)

18. Read a book with diamond jewellery on the cover

22. Read a book where the MC is a dancer

29. Read a book where the MC falls in love with their boss(es)

30. Read a book with the word "Dance" in the title/ top shelf "Dance"

32. Read a book with the word "air" in the title/series title

35. Read a book with at least 2 men on the cover

44. Read a book with a gun/guns on the cover (this can be swapped with white, men's clothing on cover task)

message 635: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 4427 comments If noone finds anything, I could cover the diamond or the "air in the title" tasks, but I am already stretched, as I have the 500+ pages task and the "permed hair" book is also almost 500 pages

Laura..devouring books like crumpets (lauzacookie) | 640 comments I'm reading my witchy book now and panther book....

the myth/ god book I will read next

I do have books with jewelry on cover so I can maybe do diamonds... also have plenty of billionaire boss books , also a white shirt I have....

the remaining ones I have nothing for though

Laura..devouring books like crumpets (lauzacookie) | 640 comments I will see if any of the ones I am able to do are still available after I finish myth book if so will look for something white shirt/diamond/boss

message 638: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 4427 comments Laura, if you could take the white shirt book, it would be awesome, then we could move "Emerald Blaze" for the "gun on cover" task.

message 639: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 4427 comments I could read "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" to cover "MPG Christian" as it's short but still has the required word count and my "The Inklings" book could be moved for task "at least 2 men on the cover".

Laura..devouring books like crumpets (lauzacookie) | 640 comments ok I can take white shirt put me down for that x

Barbara Pereira (babitix) | 285 comments I cannot promise to do so, but I will try to:
I am reading The Cruel Prince for Prompt 01 and if I finish it I could read the following book of the series The Wicked King for the Prompt 32.
Both are books from "The Folk of the Air Series".

message 648: by Melindam (new)

Melindam | 4427 comments Barbara, let's have your book, The Cruel Prince for the "Air in the title/subtitle" task, because this is more difficult to find, I think.

So if anyone has a book that would work for crown in title/crown on the cover, please let us know.

message 649: by Melindam (last edited Mar 20, 2021 11:59AM) (new)

Melindam | 4427 comments I should have waited with The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett :)

Anyway, I could recommend it as a very enjoyable and quick read. It's only 120 pages.
