A big thank you to Joanne Bookworm Extraordinaire for allowing us to use her Crayola Cover Challenge as the idea for this one for our group.
This is a combination cover/task/spell challenge with four levels of participation. Below is a list of 253 Crayola colors to work with. As always you are welcome to do as much or as little of the challenge as you like. The challenge can also be worked in rounds (working the list of greens, then the yellows, reds, etc). Just have fun with it.
LEVEL 1 - COVER:
Read a book with the color found on the cover. The color does not have to cover the entire cover. As long as it appears somewhere on the cover, it works. If you do the cover task for all colors, you will need to read 253 books (if each book is used only one time).
LEVEL 2 - SPELL IT OUT:
Spell out your colors of choice using the first letter of the book's title, the first letter of the author's first or last name, the first letter of a series name, or the first letter of a main character's first or last name. For the hard to find letters Q, X, Y and Z you may use a title, author's name (first or last), series title or main character's name (first or last) that contains the letter. If you completed the spell out option for all 253 colors, will need to read approximately 2,383 books (if each book is used only one time).
LEVEL 3 - TASKS:
There are four tasks for each color. Complete the task level by reading a book for each task listed for your chosen colors. If you complete this section for all 253 colors, you will need to read a total of 1,012 books (if each book is used only one time).
LEVEL 4 - COMBINATION:
Complete a combination of levels 1, 2 and/or 3. If you complete all sections of this challenge for all 253 colors, you will need to read approximately 3,648 books (if each book is used only one time).
Special Note: If you are participating in more than one level you may use the same book twice---but it must be in two different levels.
The challenge begins August 1, 2014, and has no deadline.

Challenge Rules:
The page limit requirement is 125 pages unless otherwise specified; however, participants are welcome to combine smaller books to reach the page limit. All books are allowed (children's, manga, graphic novels, audio, ebook, etc). Re-reads are fine - just be sure to re-read the entire book.
Challenge Updates:
You are welcome to post updates while working your way through the challenge. When posting an update, please include the following information: a link to the book title, the author's name, and the date you finished reading the book.
Completed Challenges:
When you have completed this challenge, copy and paste your entire challenge in a new message, letting us know it is completed. A completed challenge must include: a link to the book title, the author's name, and the date you finished reading the book. If this information is missing, your challenge is incomplete. Because our other challenge thread is becoming very difficult to post in, it's time to move this beast to a new thread, in order to make it easier to post updates, and also to make it easier for new participants to sign up.
Please Note: If you are currently working this challenge, you DO NOT need to start over. You will be able to update your previous posts, but you will NOT be able to add new messages in the old (bulky) thread.
If you wish to move your challenge to this new thread, you are welcome to, but it isn't required. Please be sure to post any updates in this new thread.

Special note about space: Please keep in mind you can fit approximately 100 books per post - if you are not posting book covers. If you are posting book covers, you will generally be able to fit 75-80 books per post. This will help you in determining how much space to reserve, depending on how much of the challenge you decide to do.
