So basically this is like a female-led, dark Harry Potter? Written by Naomi Novik?

Also... Dont walk the halls alone. And beware of the monsters who lurk everywhere is advice that should have been given to all Hogwarts students tbh

This book is AMAZING. I was lucky to read it in advance and I had not been so excited about a fantasy novel for a long time. Maybe since I read Harry Potter as a child. This story is definitely for adults, horrifying, ironic, a can't-stop-reading novel that I can't wait to recommend to my friends. Reading this novel without being able to discuss it with anyone has been terrible. I can't wait to see it published!!!

Yayyy, the "yelling-at-Harry-Potter" book has a title and release date!

I was at Naomi Novik's kaffeeklatch at Worldcon 2019 and she described this book as "imagine if Hogwarts was trying to kill the students".
The entire table gave voice to a simultaneous, incredulous "IF???"
