PattyMacDotComma | 3338 comments Michael Jordan still draws crowds, although it's been a long time since we watched him play basketball. His is one of the latest stories featured in the "little people: BIG DREAMS" children's picture book series by Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara. Great story! (not a fan of the artist this time)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10037 comments The Great Troll War is the fourth book in Jasper Fforde's Last Dragonslayer series, and what an excellent conclusion to this incredibly imaginative series it is! You don't have to be YA to enjoy any of Fforde's work. So entertaining.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10037 comments Aussie author L.A. Larkin's eighth novel, The Safe Place is undeniably a page-turner, but even though I had donned my disbelief suspenders (I stole this clever phrase from another reviewer), I wasn't entirely convinced and found it rather too cliched.

PattyMacDotComma | 3338 comments I don't always like books that win the Booker Prize, but Moon Tiger by Penelope Lively is terrific. It was even shortlisted for the Golden Booker, best in 50 years. Straight to the favourites list (or the pool room, for Aussies 😊).

From the format it's clear that it is aimed at children, but their parents will probably enjoy it too.
