With Aussie author, Sandie Docker's new book, The Wattle Island Book Club, I fell in love with the characters from the outset, and couldn't wait to see what happened next. A wonderfully romantic story bound to appeal to those who love books and libraries. And what a gorgeous cover!!5★s

I loved Michael Ondaatje's much lauded Warlight, which begins in London, 1945. Bomb flashes were what lit the way for those sneaking around during curfews - criminals, spies, and kids.Terrific read!

I was as enchanted by Shaun Tan as ever. thoroughly loved Cicada but I rather think it is more suited to grown ups than kids, or maybe just mature children...

And I was more than slightly horrified, not BY The Mediterranean by Armin Greder but more by the notion that it is in any shape or form meant to be a kids book!

I would love, LOVE some feedback on these kids book by anyone else who has read them. I don't have kids, I just have to go on who I was as a kid. The Mediterranean in particular - has anyone read that to their child? How did they respond? How did you explain?
My review for
The Little French Bridal Shop by Jennifer Dupeehttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I read this mystery for the Around Australia challenge and discovered it was published in 1950, so made for an interesting time capsule of attitudes to race and gender!

All About Ella is the first book I've read by Meredith Appleyard and it is a delight. The story deals with ageism with sensitivity and humour: a thought-provoking and heart-warming read.5★s

A first-person narrative by a protagonist who's definitely unhinged makes for an interesting psychological thriller. A Good Winter by NZ author, Gigi Fenster gets 4★s from me (no quote marks for speech :( )https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
