Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments Thank to Allen & Unwin I have just finished my ARC of Just Murdered by Katherine Kovacic by Katherine Kovacic

I am giving it 4* ; while it was a lot of fun it did not quite meet the standard of either the Phryne Fisher novels by Kerry Greenwood nor Kovacic's previous books.

It was a great deal of fun though. I will probably re-read it again pretty soon as I rather gobbled it down. Also, I hope there will be more.

PattyMacDotComma | 3341 comments I often admit that I have a soft spot for short stories, and I've just read two very different ones. Both are FREE and I've included links where you can find them.

Well-known author Amor Towles wrote The Line about a simple Russian peasant, Pushkin, who finds contentment easily, while his wife keeps seeking greener pastures.

On a completely different and funny note -

Cost of Care by Betsy Robinson is an extremely short story that is bound to delight you! Spare a few minutes to see a pair of entitled folk get their come-uppance. Supremely satisfying!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10038 comments While we often see TV or movie adaptations of books, the reverse is less common. Katherine Kovacic has adapted the first episode of the Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries series into a novel, Just Murdered and done it in a very entertaining fashion.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10038 comments I was so pleased that Wollongong City Libraries ordered in the Justice Jones series by Elly Griffiths, and even though they're aimed at 7-9 year-olds, this 66-year-old enjoyed them very much. #3 A Ghost in the Garden is a 5★ read and now I have to be patient for more...
