Digging Up Dirt by Pamela Harthttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I was thrilled to win a copy of Michael Robotham's latest, When You Are Mine, and my only disappointment was reaching the last page. Every time I was sure I knew where this was going, it took another turn. This novel is once again proof that the name Michael Robotham guarantees a brilliant read.

When I requested The Field Guide to Dumb Birds of the Whole Stupid World by American author Matt Kracht from NetGalley, I noted it was the sequel to an apparently best-selling book, and from the blurb I was hoping for something clever and funny. Sadly, I was disappointed: the humour is rather juvenile and relies mostly on expletives and insults. There is even a fart joke, making it feel rather like it’s aimed at grade school boys. The best thing about it is the illustrations of the birds, for which it gets one star ★.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Bad luck Marianne :( I wouldn't pick it up for it's title alone!

When I read Aussie author Jock Serong's debut novel, Quota seven years ago, I thought it was good, but Simon Harvey's narration is absolutely perfect and really enhances the reading experience. 5★s

My review for
How to Find Your Way in the Dark by Derek B. Millerhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Derek B. Miller has given Sheldon Horowitz, his elderly protagonist from Norwegian by Night, a great back story in How to Find Your Way in the Dark. Sheldon wants to kill his father's murderer, but he's only 12. Loved it!

Indigenous Aussie author Adam Thompson's recent collection of short stories is spot-on. The fifteen stories in Born Into This take place in Tasmania, but the problems and challenges are nation-wide. Well worth reading.

I also loved Derek B. Miller's new book
How to Find Your Way in the Dark. Those who loved Norwegian by Night will love meeting his unforgettable main character, Sheldon Horowitz as a boy.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I'm sure there will be readers to whom Chinese/American/Australian author Paige Clark's debut collection of short stories, She is Haunted, will appeal, but I found them a bit bizarre and there wasn't one among them that I really loved. 3.5★s

I've never read The Canterbury Tales but that didn't stop me greatly enjoying Aussie author Karen Brooks version of the Wife of Bath, The Good Wife of Bath: A (Mostly) True Story. Brilliant historical fiction.5★s
