My review for
American Sherlock: Murder, Forensics, and the Birth of American CSI by Kate Winkler Dawson, an interesting look at an early twentieth century pioneer of forensic science https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Here's my review for
Two Steps Onward by Graeme Simsion and Anne Buist. Having completed the Camino de Santiago three years ago in Two Steps Forward, the main characters find themselves reunited on the Camino de Assise, supporting a friend with a terminal illness on a thousand mile walk through France and Italy to Rome.

My review for
Falling by T.J. Newman, a page-turning rollercoaster of a read!https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Last month I read Shaw Initiation by new AA Xavier Wallace. I love a good spy story, and this one largely takes place in NSW, which is a bit different (aren't they almost always somewhere else?). The series has recently jumped up to a count of 3.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Harriet Kline's debut novel, This Shining Life is a beautifully-written, moving read.4★s

The audio version of Australian author, Catherine McKinnon’s second novel, Storyland, is narrated by Ulli Birve and Grant Cartwright. The narration is excellent except for the mispronunciation of some place names, which will grate on locals, and George Bass as in “case” instead of “lass”, which will irritate more widely. 5★s for this superlative read, minus half a star for these audio irritations.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I recently read AA Sarah Krasnostein's new book, The Believer, on audio. Whether you're a believer or a sceptic, I think there's something in this for all of us. Truly fascinating.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Ten-year-old Rae is home alone in Aussie author Emily Spurr's moving debut novel, A Million Things. Kids are canny creatures, and Rae is one I am sure will be remembered.

This children's book (yes, children's book) introduces kids to drag queen RuPaul! It's a new one in the Little People, BIG DREAMS series by Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara, who has produced countless inspirational biographies that even grown-ups can learn from.
4★ Link to my review of RuPaul with several illustrations to entertain you.
Not that any of us are getting on planes right now, but American author (and former flight attendant) T.J. Newman's debut novel, Falling, might just have us rethinking it when we can again fly. This one is hard to put down, and very little suspension of disbelief is required.5★s

With audio books, the narrator is so important to the listener's enjoyment. The audio version of Jacqueline Bublitz’s debut novel, Before You Knew My Name, is narrated by Penelope Rawlins. Hers is the perfect voice for Alice Lee, her narration is excellent, and her Australian accent for Ruby Jones and co is, mostly, convincing.5★s

I just read
by Imbi Neeme this penguin award winner, set in WA, is an excellent story. I believe it is a debut novel and the richness of the characterisation was marvellous. I will look out for anything else written/to be written by this author with anticipation. My only regret was that I chose an audiobook, as the narration was not for me.

Will Still Life by Sarah Winman be my book of the year?? Probably! I'll be more than happy if it is.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Here's my review for
Yours Cheerfully by A.J. Pearce, a sequel to Dear Mrs. Bird, a light, enjoyable read about a young journalist working for a women' magazine during WW2.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I loved the e-version of Emily Spurr's debut novel, A Million Things, and Rebecca Bower's narration of the audio version really does it justice. 5★s
