I'm really really behind on my BRs, and so I'm making a list here so I keep seeing it:
Finish: Wrath and Dawn, and Champion City Of Ashes

Start: Blood & Ash, Vicious, Betrayals, and Deceivers, Heart So Fierce and Broken

Future: Dream Thieves, How to Fail at Flirting, Can You Keep a Secret, and Siege and Storm

Some of the nooks here are so full of life, there are always such amazing conversations going on. I am too intimidated to comment on any of them though😅

\\aah i am excited for your thoughts on from blood and ash ! i found it a bit similair to sarah j maas her books. The charracters where great and the romance was also great + a lot of banter and a great worldbuilding.

that's one of my main reasons for reading it!!! and I'm really in the mood for romance, enemoes-to-lovers, some angst, banter....this seemed like the perfect fit from my current to-finish-before-jan books

it is but in my opinion it also has a good worldbuilding and a well worked out main charracters that struggels and isnt all perfect. i did like it , the sequel i did find too much sometimes on the smut and a bit repetitive and that syas something for me to say that haha

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) | 5341 comments Bumble wrote: "honestly whoever came up with that nickname (was it sofia?) deserves a nobel prize for literature"

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) | 5341 comments @Bumble I get what you said about rapey vibes...but it didn't exactly feel like that to me somehow? I don't know....

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) | 5341 comments You know what, the above comment isn't completely right (I'm only upto 10%) The way he wasn't getting up when she asked him to was definitely rapey vibes....but it didn't feel like it because Penelope's perspective is a little skewed

message 178: by Bumble (new)

Bumble Greenbriar (hernameiscrumpet) | 922 comments he’s just a little too forward? like he wouldn’t get up when she asked him to stop, and he keeps touching her face and stuff. but after a while they actually have a romance and he gets a little better.

I feel the same....he was definitely not acting okay when he wasn't listening to her, but then the later scenes were full of consent and whatnot...so...

message 181: by Sofia, Bookish Duck (new)

Sofia (sofloaf) | 3641 comments I think Hawke is extremely problematic because he didn't stop when Poppy told him too, he just kissed and groped a random stranger. Dude, back off.

We are talking about the beginning chapters, right?

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) | 5341 comments Sofia wrote: "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU LIKED THE WRATH AND THE DAWN HHHHH"

I'm sorry Sofia. I tried. I tried so hard to hate it, but I was absolutely enjoying it, and I hated when it finished. I do think that the beginning of that was problematic too, but I JUST SO LIKED THE REST OF IT (please don't hate me)

Yes, I do think they are slightly (maybe a little more) problematic, but Sofia the rest of the scenes were, and are, so GOOD....in fact, I just finished with one of them, and I CAN'T SOFIA I CAN'T HATE THIS

I AGREE I AGREE SO BAD BUT THE REST OF IT

I have no excuse. I wholeheartedly agree both beginnings were really problematic, but I can't lie, I'm enjoying the rest of it

I'll translate that sentence into Mud and Trash speak.

The biggest problem was... was the writing.

I tis, actually, there's not much sense to the plot of this....but the romance, which I'm here for mainly, is to my liking,...and so...here we are

YOU HAVE A POINT

Buuuuut... that is literally how I speak (online) and think (most of the time), so I didn't find it as bad....though I think those kind of ellipses would be better suited to like a movie script...or maybe an audiobook...
