No one has to know about it though!! But I'm already getting excited for the next book sale. There were just SO many books there. Hopefully by that one I'll have somewhere to put them. You should see my shelves now! It's not pretty
I wish my library would have a sale! hehe , I promise not to tell!
Getting closer to the start of the challenge, an 1h30mins left for us Beth!
Mine does them every three months. Four big sales a year and then every day they have a cart that has a few books on it that they sell for $1 or $2. It's so awesome
Beth (Ducky) wrote: "Mine does them every three months. Four big sales a year and then every day they have a cart that has a few books on it that they sell for $1 or $2. It's so awesome"Sounds awesome, I would love it!
Beth, dont you give me your address.. I might break in and steal some of those books !*serious warning* :P
DON'T YOU DARE. But really, my boyfriend would only be too happy for someone to come in here and ""accidentally"" steal some of my books.
He will be pleased! Do you know what book you're going to start with? If you need any ideas, the spreadsheet is updated so just pick whichever one you want :D
I have started Garden Spells. It can be used for :
1 in Hand Two - First in a Series
6 in Hand Four - Author First Name (S), Character Name (S)
8 in Hand One/Three - Character Name (E)
9 in Hand Four - Place (N)
Draw 2 in Hand One/Three
Wild in Hand One/Three
Wild Draw 4 in Hand One/Three
I put you for 8 in hand three! Unless you want to see if anyone else in the group has read it before (I know I haven't) then we could use it for the reverse in hand two
Beth (Ducky) wrote: "I put you for 8 in hand three! Unless you want to see if anyone else in the group has read it before (I know I haven't) then we could use it for the reverse in hand two"sorry, I haven't read it. Maybe someone else on our team has.
If not, I have a book that I can use as reverse. I just want everyone to feel included and I feel like I'm taking too many of the books
I'll keep it on 8. If any one has a book they want to read, post it on here so we can see if anyone else has read it so it can go for reverse
I was thinking of reading it so I may be able to get my hands on it. If not, maybe someone else wants to read it?
I read Throne of Glass in Jan. 2014. Also, I finished Ready Player One - adding it to my SpeedRacer bookshelf! I'll post a few ideas for my next read soon.
I think Teddie means switch my book throne of glass to the empty reverse card since he already read itThen we can fill the spot it was in
Teddie wrote: "thanks Laura - still getting used to the rules! :)"Sorry I was on my phone earlier and my lunch break was over..
no problem,it takes a little while to get used to the rules and it makes sense what you are saying, Teddie. Beth you could switch my
to Reverse because Teddie has already read it and you could stick in its place
by Brandon Sanderson. (works for card 6--author's last name starts with S) I will finish it.. it has to be back by the 18th... I just have to finish my other 3 I am working on first.
I've updated the spreadsheet! I added Teddie's Ready Player One and switched around the Throne of Glass.I've also found a book that I can read soon for the Draw 2 in hand three!
I can read Priceless by Shannon Mayer for hand 2's wild card - just let me know if someone is doing the wildcard already!
If anyone that doesn't have many books lined up wants to schedule books for hand four, go right ahead!
I can do A Tree Grows In Brooklyn for the Hand 4 3 card (title that starts with a T.) Always let me know if we need to do any doubling up on a book :)
Thanks Teddie! at this point I'm just trying to get as many spots filled as possible so we all know what book to jump into next
I finished Prince Caspian, it can fit for a book which is 4 in series. I did check AR book finder and it confirms that edition I read published by HarperTrophy is 238 pages and word count of 44764. I'm onto The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
Thanks June! I put it in hand 4 because that looks like the earliest 4 we have open. What exactly is the potato book about?
UpdateFinished : Garden Spells | Sarah Addison Allen | 03Feb2015
Fits the following tasks:
★ Hand 1: 8 (Character Name (E))
★ Hand 1: Draw 2
★ Hand 1: Wild
★ Hand 1: Wild Draw 4
★ Hand 2: 1 (First in Series)
★ Hand 3: 8 (Character Name (E))
★ Hand 3: Draw 2
★ Hand 3: Wild
★ Hand 3: Wild Draw 4
★ Hand 4: 9 (Place (N))
★ Hand 4: 6 (Author First Name (S), Character Name (S))
Here are my ideas for the next few hands:Hand 5 :
- One for the Money -- Reverse as Beth has read it
- The Supremes at Earl's all you can eat - SKIP as author is Edward Kelsey Moore
Hand 6 :
Oryx and Crake - 1
Darkness, Kindled - 4
Let me know if you want to use any of these elsewhere, or need something read for a particular card!
Apoorv wrote: "Beth, I will be reading Naked in Death next.. let me check where it fits in !"I love this book. I also read it, though not sure if its on my read shelf!

I've put all of these in the spreadsheet, thank you for letting me know in advance! Just keep me updated on when you finish them so I can keep the spreadsheet updated :)
