awesome, I just found a character in my book I am reading In the blood ( misspelled on our spreadsheet )whose last name starts with F= Detective Ferrigno. We could switch this book to the card 5, same hand.. f's are harder to fill than wild 4.
My son finished my Firefight book, now I can get back to reading it!!
I love when that happens! Spreadsheet and bingo card is updated! If everyone can let me know what book(s) they are currently reading right now, that would be nice so I could put it into the bingo card!
a few more books to add to the spreadsheet:hand seven, skip Graceling by Kristin Cashore ( author's first name)
hand eight, card 4 ( character's first name starts with F-Fredrika) Unwanted
hand nine, works for cards 3, ( title)2,( 2nd book in series) & skip ( author's last name starts with S)
The Dream Thieves
for bingo: I'm almost done with Station Eleven, which was a National Book Award nominee. Really enjoying it. The Scribe could be used for book set in Asia or Europe - it's set in Turkey. Oryx and Crake has a green cover, mostly.
Okay I think I have the bingo card all updated with the books you guys posted! I also added in the book I'm currently reading. Just remember to let me know the reasoning for where the book goes on the bingo card!
We now have the first four hands complete and two books short of having the first five hands complete! We are doing awesome so far. Great job, Speeders!
I'm finished with The Bane Chronicles. It was okay, not my favorite. For bingo its a YA book, I guess. Not sure what else it would count for unless maybe a book that's not in a series? I'm not sure if it's technically part of the Mortal Instruments series.
I'll put it under YA. We can easily find a book that isn't part of a series. I think my next book is a standalone
I say we should try to get the harder ones out of the way first like the awards and current best sellers. Getting the book cover colors out of the way is good as well. And the different genres.
Big Little Lies is on the NYT bestseller list: http://www.nytimes.com/best-sellers-b... Many shades of grey on there too - lol.
Laura, the second in the series is already used by your Firefight, so is there anywhere else it fits? Maybe with a cover?June are you planning on reading those next? I would like to only put currently reading books on the bingo card for right now.
I think I have it all updated right now. I'll go through everyone's currently reading and see if there are any other books I can put on the Bingo card

oooops, sorry, it works for the Fantasy catergory.
If books don't fit with any of the spaces, we do have a free space that someone can use. I guess that will be first come first serve
I will be reading Fire works for hand nine, card 2 (2nd in series)I am reading Graceling now and its awesome!!
How do you split up reading more than one book at once? I've been thinking of doing it as well to try to get through more books at once but I've always kinda sucked at it. Do you read a certain amount of pages from each book and then switch? Or do you just read for a certain amount of time?
I read a little at work on my lunch break so usually have two books going at once. I'm usually the only one awake in the morning so I read for a few minutes while I eat breakfast. I guess if I have 3 books on the go I split them up depending which one catches my interest more. I have Graceling and Elizabeth is Missing on the go right now, but I 've left Elizabeth is Missing for the moment ( its really good but an emotionally difficult book to read.. MC has Alzheimers)
I would rather read then watch tv or facebook:) Though I plan to tune in tonight to watch the Walking Dead!
I generally only read 1 fiction at a time - I like to stay in one story completely, and find it hard to flip around between different fictional books. I usually read a few non-fiction or poetry on the side of the fiction - that is doable for me :)
I think my biggest problem is that nothing can keep my attention for very long. Even if I'm absolutely loving the book, I have a very hard time reading more than 20 minutes at a time :( it only takes me a few hours to read a 300 page book but since I only read in like 5, 10, 20 minute increments, it takes me a few days to read a book that would take me four hours of just sitting down and reading it.If I am going to read two books at the same time, I try to stay in different genres. Reading two different mystery books at the same time wouldn't be good because the stories may get confusing and it would be weird.
Since I also really only leave the house after dark due to my sleeping schedule, I read on the Kindle when I'm in the car or out of the house and then physical books at home usually
It makes me feel like a bad reader haha. I just can't stay focused on anything for too long. Maybe I should read 7 books at once. When I grow distracted of one book, just move onto another one!
I've just finished Scarlet. And I usually have more than one book reading. But often one captures my interest more than the others.
Deja vu is on my list for this month. When I finish my other books I'll decide where our if they can fit for the bingo challenge them.
Any idea where Scarlet would fit? We already have 2nd in series taken. We could put it under fiction. Or if it's set in Europe, we could put it under there. Maybe we could put it under black cover, but I'd have to get it verified. We can also put it under free space if we have nowhere else for it
I put Deja Vu for white cover because it's harder to get covers than first in series!I just hope someone else starts a new series soon

June did you like Scarlet? I am waiting for my copy of Fairest to come in!
Just switched it. I can't wait to read Born to Rise. He's my favourite soccer player. I can also fit on the Bingo card because it was originally published in a different language.
Beth (Ducky) wrote: "Just switched it. I can't wait to read Born to Rise. He's my favourite soccer player. I can also fit on the Bingo card because it was originally published in a different language."It does look interesting!
I think as we fill in a few more spots on the bingo card its going to get harder to fill in the remaining ones.
Beth (Ducky) wrote: "Just switched it. I can't wait to read Born to Rise. He's my favourite soccer player. I can also fit on the Bingo card because it was originally published in a different language."I think he had another book that would also fit there.
Which book? Yeah it's going to be harder to fill them up but we do only have 2 weeks so I want to get as many filled up as we can. Do you think our main focus should be filling in lines instead of just filling in the hardest ones to find?
Finished GracelingI need to recommend this book to you guys if you love young adult and fantasy!! I gave it a 5*
Beth (Ducky) wrote: "Which book? Yeah it's going to be harder to fill them up but we do only have 2 weeks so I want to get as many filled up as we can. Do you think our main focus should be filling in lines instead of ..."this one:
this one would work well for the wild 4 as the Shopaholics book has more options and would fit a card six or card 7 ( title or author's first name)
I'm about halfway through Trial By Fire by Josephine Angelini. It's the first in a new series, so it works for hand 9 card 1 and the second bingo card spot if those aren't taken yet.
Beth, would you please switch out Oryx and Crake and put in Eleanor and Park - takes place in Omaha. (I need an apocalyptic break before reading O&C.) E&P could work for the Not Part of a Series square on Bingo. Also, I made a quick Bingo Card spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...- it's editable for you Beth - thought it might offer a better Bingo overall view. You can move O&C to Hand 10's 6 - a main character is named Snowman. On Laura's recommendation, I'll read Graceling for Hand 9's Reverse.
You can add
Night Watch to Hand 10 for card 9 -- will fill the Bingo space for Book first published in Non-English language (Russian.) Thanks Beth!
Teddie wrote: "Beth, would you please switch out Oryx and Crake and put in Eleanor and Park - takes place in Omaha. (I need an apocalyptic break before reading O&C.) E&P could work for the Not Part of a Series sq..."Teddie, Eleanor & Park is a great book!!
Your bingo card is so much more reader friendly!
hi guys , I "borrowed" this from another team.( thank you Karen) It lets us see how we are doing in comparison to the other teams!Uno team totals
Beth maybe you could put it under our spreadsheet so its easier to access.
Now this is where it gets confusing. Apoorv has already read Confessions but I had to move it down and the only place it fits is the only place O&C fits for Teddie. So now what do I do?I've updated everything else.
Also, I was already planning on reading a book that fits for published in a different language and I don't know if it fits anywhere else, so maybe we can just go with whoever finishes the book first? Is there anywhere else that it would fit? We can put your book under fiction if you want to since mine is non fiction I can't put mine there
Hi Beth - just take Oryx off for now - I can read something different. Re: other language book - cool, keep yours there! I just wanted to make sure we had one for the Bingo challenge :)
Teddie I think I'm going to put Night Watch for Fiction novel since then that whole line would be "claimed" and then we both can put our books up there. I hope that's okay with you!! I'm trying to accommodate everyone and get their books on there but it's tough when there are so many books that we've all got going on
