Jane (PS) | 24352 comments Date 1 - B - Tasks: Breakdown of the qualifications for possible tasks for Date 1.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.

Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!

You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.

B is for Backcountry - Read a book with a rural setting such as a ranch, farm or mountains.

To qualify for this task, the title, series title, précis, list or tag would need to indicate that the selected book has a rural setting. In addition to the settings listed above (or other similar), you can also use references to occupations that are primarily in rural settings: cowboy, park ranger, wilderness guide, etc. Remember, I am super picky about combo-tags!

B is for Black - Read a book with a primarily black cover.

To qualify, the cover needs to be primarily black. Include the qualifying cover in your completion post. If in doubt, please ask..

B is for Bogeyman - Read a book tagged as 'PNR' or 'paranormal'.

To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be tagged as 'PNR' or 'paranormal', alone or in combination. The qualification for this task comes from tags/shelves ONLY. The tag does not have to be MPG, but the book must be tagged at least once to qualify. Please include a link to the top shelves page of your book's qualifying tag (not to the people who have used that tag or to the shelf for the tag!), the number of tags and the top shelves page number in your completion post. This information helps if the link is broken or if the tag moves as they frequently do.

B is for Brag - Read a book that has won or been nominated for an award.

To qualify, the GR main book page will include a listing of the award or nomination under 'Literary Awards' in the book info. The following list(s) will make searching easier, but the qualification will still be from the GR main book page.

Book Awards

⚚♆ Cynthia ♆⚚ I think my favourite is Tripping the Twosome Tango, so voting for that!

I have found a couple of SH books but I am not 100% sure, I will share them in the private group once it is available.

Have a good day!

I have no idea what to make of Tripping the Twosome Tango but I like it. So I'm voting for that one too.

Lea | 1631 comments Finally after a busy day at work and dinner with me in-laws, followed by our new Friday night ritual: corona sing along with the kids. Danish public television has made a corona sing a long television show each Friday night, so now 1 million Danes sits around the television each Friday a sings along to mixture of hymns, classic and pop (in a nation with 5 million). I am now ready to look for SH books.
I am really bad at naming things (my second daughter was without a real name for way to long :-( ) so I will support whatever the majority votes for😀

Nicole | 62 comments My declaration
I have read the instructions
I understand that I am committing to at least 1 book each week
I know that books must be MPG Romance and at least 90 pages - 1st edition Kindle English AND fit the task
I understand this is a team challenge, reliant on me upholding these commitments

message 72: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 62 comments Hello everyone, I'm sorry for the delay!

My name is Nicole, and I live in Israel, so my time zone is IST (UTC+2). Today is the third day of Hanuka, but due to the coronavirus, I probably won't physically see anyone except my parents and little brother...

I am currently a computer science student, it's my last year :), and next year I'll be joining some facility that contributes to Israel for the next -hopefully- six years (that will be my job).

I usually read between 2-5 books per week, mostly romance, and mostly in English, though I do enjoy from time to time a good book about science, but only in Hebrew. I read almost any sub-genre, in romance, but my new favorite is historical romances, cause I just found out they exist😅.

I have never participated in this challenge, and I'm super excited to be here, and meet you all!

Jane (PS) | 24352 comments Welcome Nicole!! Glad you have joined in - this a fun challenge that you can take as lightly or as seriously as you want! The main thing is to get that 'one book that fits' read each week. (Along with meeting all the key parameters for the book! ;)

Hope you are enjoying Hanukkah despite COVID 😊

message 78: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24352 comments I'm on the road for the next 7 or so hours and then in a community meeting 🙄 Honestly, I am not normally so busy and unavailable!

Could someone please post the B task in this thread once Kat announces is in just under 3 hours?

I'll try to keep an eye on the thread to see if I can download and start a book during my drive (I do go through areas without reception though for some time, so I doubt I'll be able to do a lot with my first book!)...
