22 - A book set mostly or entirely outdoors

Yes! The majority of it does take place outside. This would fit IMO."
Thank you!

I also read Lost Boy: The True Story of Captain Hook by the same author, and i loved it even more. A nice villain origin story and it takes place entirely outdoors.
I would also suggest Love in the Time of Global Warming (would work for hybrid i think too) but they do spend a lot of time in a van. However, i really enjoyed it, it was really different.
I wonder, I have Good Morning, Midnight and Station Eleven on my TBR, would they work for this?

I'd say Station Eleven works better than Good Morning, Midnight. The tent on GMM is a bit misleading, one of them is in space and the other is at an observatory, he does spend a fair bit outside but I seem to recall that during winter there's a lot more inside time.

Thank you!

The Giver of Stars is on the list and I have on my shelf - I'm assuming the traveling portion of the book is largely outdoors? Hard to tell from the synopsis.

Not really. There are some outdoor scenes. But it's set mostly in a suburb, with some flashbacks when the Yoos lived in a city (Baltimore, I think?) - like any suburb sometimes you're outside and sometimes (mostly) you're inside.

The first half of Sapiens is about prehistoric humans and their lifestyle, but the second half is about more recent history. So it's about 50/50! I don't know the other book.

The young author is on the autism spectrum and chronicles a year of nature walks. The book won the 2020 Wainwright Prize for Nature Writing and Writing on Global Conservation

Out of Thin Air by Anthony Adeane
Alone: Lost Overboard in the Indian Ocean by Brett Archibald
An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth by Chris Hadfield
Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen by Chris McDougall

Yes definitely. I enjoyed it.

by Kim Michele Richardson
And it's SOOO much better than Giver of Stars (in my opinion)
I think American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins would work too. THey are outside the majority of the time. (and yes, I know, there was tons of controversy, but if you don't look at this book as fact or a memoir, and just of what one family could possibly endure, it's a heart wrenching story of a mother's love for her son, and building friendships and caring for other people.)

- The Knife of Never Letting Go
- The Girl from Everywhere (what I read of it fit this prompt)
- Graceling
- Upright Women Wanted
- I'm Not Dying with You Tonight

Kristin, this is a wonderful true story of a couples incredibly brave response to a tremendous challenge. It is inspiring and I really recommend it!

I picked up the The Clan of the Cave Bear

I read Hell Is Empty by Craig Johnson (Walt Longmire # 7) and the entire book, or damn near is outside. They start in a car, and after a very brief time in a building, he spends the entire rest of the book (except for the epilogue) scaling a mountain, in a blizzard, hunting down some escaped convict.

I LOVE when that happens, especially for a category I wasn't sure how to fill!!!

if I can't find anything else I think I will use LoTR.

I read it a few years ago - I do think most of it was outdoors

Yes, it is mostly outdoors.

Oh, or Beasts of New York by John Evans (which you can find for free at www.beastsofnewyork.com). This one was a five-star read for me - think Watership Down but with squirrels.
