Michelle Robinson (chellrob) | 1 comments I will be reading Kazuo Ishiguro's Klara and the Sun. It is the one I'm most excited about. The release date is 2/3/2021, so not too long to wait.

Amy Lancaster | 5 comments I am currently reading Shiver by Allie Reynolds. I didn’t see it mentioned on Listopia but it was published this year. Amazing read.

message 53: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan (notphonetic) | 53 comments I read Honey Girl the other day and it absolutely knocked me flat.

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

I am reading The Charmed Wife for this prompt, and it's cute but not what I was expecting. I am really having to work through finishing it.

message 56: by michele (new)

michele (rynresa) | 2 comments @Touka Medjoubi. I read every night before I go to sleep. It's the only way I can shut off my brain.

Listopia list is..."

Yay, Murderbot! Though I will likely read something else first. Possibly Act Your Age, Eve Brown or Complicit.

Drakeryn | 708 comments Here's my current shortlist of 2021 releases:

The Echo Wife (Sarah Gailey) Feb 16 - Domestic suspense with a sci-fi twist: a guy is cheating on his wife with his wife's clone. Domestic suspense is kinda out of my usual alley but I'm intrigued by the premise.

The Memory Theater (Karin Tidbeck) Feb 16 - Creepy dark fae fantasy.

Fragile Remedy (Maria Ingrande Mora) Mar 9 - Okay I admit this mostly made my TBR because of the pretty blue cover:
Fragile Remedy by Maria Ingrande Mora

Gearbreakers (Zoe Hana Mikuta) June 29 - Rebel lesbians fighting mechs! What more could you want? Also another glorious cover:
Gearbreakers by Zoe Hana Mikuta

Iron Widow (Xiran Jay Zhao) Sept 21 - Chinese-inspired mecha sci-fi. People are tagging it as a retelling and I'm not sure of what but it sounds cool anyway.

Jamie | 117 comments I think I might use Later by Stephen King for this one.

Or maybe Tales From the Hinterland by Melissa Albert.

message 60: by Leona (new)

Leona (mnleona) | 244 comments Reading Crimson Phoenix Crimson Phoenix (Victoria Emerson #1) by John Gilstrap by John Gilstrap I won on Goodreads.

message 61: by Stina (new)

Stina (stinalyn) | 464 comments Heh. Just found my notes from February, and it turns out I have already completed this prompt with Sadie Sprocket Builds a Rocket. It was an Amazon Prime First Reads book. It's cute and fun and promotes girls in STEM.

message 62: by AF (new)

AF (slothlikeaf) | 398 comments Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty

Coming out later this fall

message 64: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 97 comments Every year I have the same problem with this one.
What publishing date do you go by?

Does only the first original publishing in the original language count?
The first in your country or language?
The first edition of a format (audio, ebook etc.)?

With the English-centric book market, I guess this is more a problem for people in non English speaking countries.
I am in Germany and not a big fan of German Literature/writers in general so most of my books do not come through my hands in the first months of the original publishing and I struggle with this prompt every year.

How does everyone else see this? I already posted this over at ATY and I hope to get some more opinions on this to help me decide ;)

I go by original publication date.

message 66: by Sherri (new)

Sherri Harris | 782 comments Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley

message 67: by Teri (new)

Teri (teria) | 1554 comments I also go by original publication date, no matter where it is first published. But whatever works for you will be fine.

message 68: by Pippa (new)

Pippa (pageswithpippas) | 3 comments I’m going with Black Buck for this one!

message 69: by Pippa (new)

Pippa (pageswithpippas) | 3 comments How do you tag the books? Lol new here

message 70: by Jacqie (new)

Jacqie I read Escape from Puroland by Charles Stross for this. If you are a scifi reader, I recommend this author's Laundry Files series. This is a novella set fairly late in the series, and I wouldn't recommend coming into it cold. Fun, though.

I just finished Eve Brown yesterday! And I'm starting Fugitive Telemetry right now! We read the same books :-) And yes, I did end up using a different book to fill the challenge (You Have a Match) just because it came out first.

message 73: by Harry (new)

Harry Patrick | 109 comments Read On the House: A Washington Memoir by John Boehner. Gave it 4 stars. He skewers everybody especially his Republican colleagues for their desire to win at any & all costs & screw the country mentality.

message 74: by Leah (new)

Leah Still | 11 comments I read The Supreme Lie by Geraldine McCaughrean. A bit of change from her normal style - a political satire which is well worth a read.

message 75: by JC (new)

JC (jace_in_space) | 15 comments I have just finished this prompt! I read Fat Chance, Charlie Vega, which was a very fluffy YA. Might be good if anyone is looking for a lighter read. Also, it would work for the body positivity prompt as well.

message 76: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (zumbajess) | 176 comments I read “The Four Winds” for this one.

message 77: by Purple (new)

Purple Potato (ironic_capricorn) | 2 comments I would be more than happy if I get my hands on (probably) the last book of Seven Sisters saga, so I just can't wait to read The Missing Sister by Lucinda Riley

Anyone tried to read this saga?

message 78: by Fiona (new)

Fiona Macdougall (fluffyfi) | 1 comments I'm loving the series. I've loved more books than others. I'm most excited by Pa Salts story. Will be gutted when there is no more to read. Putting off reading the Missing Sister so that I don't have as long between that and the final book

message 79: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (littlebigdog) | 20 comments It's rare that I get around to a newly published book, but I did! It was called Wings of Ebony by J. Elle. This is her first book, so I look forward to her future books.

Lilith (lilithp) | 1073 comments Starfish. I loved this book. I adored the MC - she is brave, kind, compassionate and strong. All the characters are so well-drawn, and relatable, for good or ill. Highly recommend!

message 83: by Kerris (new)

Kerris Crook I've just finished Mrs Death Misses Death, it was certainly different.
