Questions/Problems in Completed Tasks

Please check your total. No need to repost."
Marked a task as posted without actually posting! All my posts through 1567 will be 15 points off for the total.

Books claimed for points in the SRC must have at least 100 full pages of text. The Amazon Look Inside feature for The Moomin Craft Book shows several full page photographs and many pages of templates. Please confirm that this book has at least 100 pages of reading material.

Task 30.6, book 1 requires a book written by a single author. It Devours! has 2 authors and cannot be used for this task.

Based on the information provided, I assume this post is for task 25.5, not 25.8 as you've already claimed 25.8. If this is correct, no need to repost. Just adjust your personal records if needed.

Hi, after double and triple checking, I am quite certain that Wizard of Earthsea was published in 68. I'm going to see the entry updated and then repost for this one. Thanks!

Posting requirement #2. Include Task # and a short (1-5 word) Task Description.

Please review the rules for books with the main page genre childrens or kids

Task 50.1 requires a specific number of pages.
The Perfect Life is an ebook that appears to not have a print edition. ebooks without print editions cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific number of pages.

Books must have at least 100 pages of text to be used for points in the SRC and collections of syndicated, periodical or internet comic strips, single or short-format panels, or cartoons must be at least 200 pages to be used for SRC tasks.
Cat Trivia: Funny Facts is described as "Funny cartoons and fun trivia." A preview of the book shows cartoons on every other page. This book is not eligible for points in the SRC.

Task 15.6 - A Dead Red Heart appears to be an ebook without a print edition. You must have it approved for length in Ebook verification in Verification.
Your repost must include the line number of the approval in the ebook spreadsheet or a link/post number of the post in which the ebook was approved for length.

Task 10.5 requires a second book from an author you first read in 2020 (before 11/15/20), not a new to you author.

Your total is still off. See posts elsewhere in this thread for issues that need to be resolved.

This was approved for length in the verification thread. (message 8107: by Dlmrose). Do I need to resubmit?
I've just checked. The paperback is for sale on amazon.co.uk and it has 302 pages. I had put 263 pages in my post as that was what was showing at the time I got the kindle version. Should I ask a librarian to add the paperback and update the kindle?
This is my first challenge so not sure about all the stages. Sorry! :)

It's a lot to keep straight, I know. ;-) Here are the highlights:
Some tasks require a specific number of pages. The 50-point task always requires at least 750 pages. This season, tasks 20.9, 30.1, 30.2, 30.5 and 30.6 also require a specific number of pages (although the specific number is different for different tasks). Books that have only been published only in ebook form, with no print edition, cannot be used for these tasks, even if approved for length in the ebook verification thread. It is usually possible to "guesstimate" from the word count that an ebook is at least 100 pages long (the minimum threshold to count in the challenge) so verification for length in the ebook verification thread only means the book is over 100 pages. It does not convey a specific number of pages.
In the future, if you are claiming a task that DOES NOT require a specific number of pages and the book you read exists ONLY in ebook format, you need to include a reference to the ebook verification document when you post your completed task. So, for example, you would need to include the "approved for length in the verification thread. (message 8107: by Dlmrose)" in with your completed task.
Now, to answer your question for task 50.1... Since the book you read DOES have a print version but that print version is not on Goodreads (or is not properly linked to the ebook you posted), then yes, you should ask in the anyone with librarian status.... thread for someone to correct the Goodreads record for you. Once that's done, you'll need to repost your task (make a NEW post) in the completed task thread so I can pick up your points.
One last thing... the Rules of the Challenge spell out how to determine page count for the purposes of the SRC. We never use the Kindle page count (or any other ebook or audiobook or large print page count). The procedure for figuring out which page count to use can be found in #7 under Book Formats, Page Numbers, Genres.
Feel free to ask if you have any other questions about the procedure. ;-)

Thank you!!! Really helpful. I thought I'd read the rules but still some learning to do. :)
I'll get onto the librarian bit now and try to sort it out.

Please check your total. No need to repost."
Noticed that - all fixed now - thanks Kristina :-)

When I click on All Editions, it shows a paperback as the third one down. A Dead Red Heart. I didn't link this one in the post because it wasn't the version I read. There appear to be two separate listings for the same book, one shows kindle version only, the other shows the paperback. I'll repost and link to the other one!

Is there anything I can do about it if it's really not for children (it's very violent and very clearly fantasy for adults)?

you can request it be reviewed by the mod's for not really a kids book - but there needs to be definitive proof its not (i.e. parenting manual etc)

Task 5.3 - I do not see Warm Bodies on page 1 of the I Only Watched the Movie list. Please recheck your notes and repost this task with the correct page number.

Task 30.1 requires that the combined page total for both books must be 600 pages or more.
Palm Sunday: An Autobiographical Collage - 300 pages
Birth Without Fear: The Judgment-Free Guide to Taking Charge of Your Pregnancy, Birth, and Postpartum - 288 pages
300 + 288 = 588 total pages
