So glad to hear you liked this one. I just finished Agnes Grey, and loved it. Now I look forward to reading Tenant of Wildfell Hall.

I’ve read works by all three sisters and I agree with you, I found Anne to be the best.

So happy to hear that you think she is the best too Shaina! We are in the minority for sure on this from what I've seen. I'm glad to see Bob is with us too and maybe Renee. What makes her my favorite is that her books are the truest to real life.

Thank you, Lynn. I rarely write reviews as I find it difficult to put down my thoughts (I could speak for hours). I'm glad you enjoyed Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights and it's not that I didn't enjoy them but The Tenant of Wildfell Hall felt so real and the writing so natural that I just loved it. I hope you enjoy her writing too.

Renee, I'm so happy I have a positive review of Agnes Grey. I look forward to reading your review.

Bob, I think very few people feel that way. I'm glad you feel the same about Anne. It is a book I could revisit every year.

Yes, Sue! We sure are in the minority. I agree her books are truest to real life and also her writing is simple yet moving because it's so natural.

The author's life also seems quite interesting for her time from what I read in the introduction.

I have only read Jane Eyre, and Wuthering Heights, but I also loved Anne's book (Agnes Grey) the best. It felt like I was really listening/reading about someone's life. She felt like she could be a real person telling me her story. I do look forward to reading more of Charlotte Bronte too, and may have to add either Villette, or The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte to my list this year based on how much Shaina enjoyed it!

I found the end quite flat. Looking forward to more of his books though.
If I remember correctly, The Woman in White was also my first by Collins, I've been hooked ever since.
I started with The Moonstone and have pretty much loved all the others I have read. Woman in White is among the best. Congratulations, Shaina, on finding a new author to love.

I can see how that happened! I look forward to The Moonstone now,

Thank you, Sara! I joined the group last year in July and was just feeling my way around the classics. I think this is the year of me discovering new authors to love. This group has really broadened my reading and introduced me to so many great authors.
We are so delighted to have you here, Shaina. I love hearing your thoughts and watching your discoveries. I have been reading classics for a lifetime (which for me is a lot of years) and I am always discovering new authors who were hiding in plain view!

Wow, Shaina you have read so much and are so close to completing several of your challenges. You have done especially well on the Group Reads. I have not read any Anne Bronte yet, and will read The Tenant of Wildfell Hall next month. You have also done a really nice job on the Short Story Challenge, and the Century and Decade Challenges.
I find the 1930s a challenging decade to locate books I want to read. I will copy your list..

Thank you, Lynn. I loved The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and I look forward to reading your thoughts. I agree I have been reading a lot this year and that is thanks to this group I now have so many great books to read (which is why I have used a book only once for a challenge).
I used the Golden age mysteries for the 1930's challenge (detective fiction fan here). Please do copy away. I feel better knowing that....as I have been copying your sci-fi short story reads all this time :P

The Secret Agent didn't seem to interest me (dnf at 21%) so I hope to pick Like Water for Chocolate and finish this challenge.
I am never again going to try to not reuse books in other challenges.
lol. I gave up on that strategy a few years back. I always find myself reusing before the end of the year. Good luck on finishing.

The last book left in the challenge is Thérèse Raquin and I have read 40% so I hope to finish this buffet without having repeated a single book here or in the Bingo.

There are 2 approaches - to not reuse books across challenges or to reuse books across as many challenges as possible. I fall firmly in the second category!

Congratulations from me as well! I tried not using them across challenges the first year and made it about halfway through before I abandoned that approach. Kudos to you for making it!

Thank you, Sara!

I really liked your review of this. I have not read either "Tenant" or "Agnes Grey" but both Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights are 5 stars in my book. I am glad you enjoyed it so much and it gives me two books to look forward to.
