Week 3: Bonfire Hearts by James Blunt

Not great but not bad either. An entertaining audiobook but parts dragged on a bit at times. Lots of sitting around talking. Plus while the action picked up in the second half of the book, it kind of felt to me like she wrote it only to be a who's who of the Cynster universe. Like she said to herself, I wonder what kind of plot I can use to get as many past Cynster H/h in the book as I possibly can. Although it's been along time since I read a Cynster book so maybe they are all like that now? Still it was an enjoyable read, especially I didn't pay anything for it.

(various forms of the word moon were used in the book but I don't know if that counts for a bonus point. There was no scene where just someone's face could be made out and as it was a Regency, no talk of moon landings)

yep! I have a pinched nerve in my neck...but that only affects my wrist....my elbow is a separate issue...because the nerves run radially...so it affects different fingers :(
I see Illegal on the list. I put that song in, it's one of my favorites. (not sure if anyone else did too). I didn't take any time too look up the video or think about a book. Now that I think about it, Shakira will be a hard name to match if it gets picked.
I don't know what to make of that Justin Timberlake video. Will really need a cheat sheet for that one.And 3 videos with some sort of boxing related element.
I don't think I have any boxing themed books. But probably not a bad idea to line one up.
So this medication for my arm is making me too fidgety to read or do needlework. So I'm listening to an audiobook while I look up these songs. Teenage dream and One More Night share a song writer: Max Martin. But one is from 2010 and one is from 2012.
I am so Sorry Guys. I had to switch real quick being waiting on the book to come and it did not come. So hope this was okay

this one was okay. Nothing real great but a fast read. Intresting about a organization that could actually exist today.Which is scary because it is horrible organization. However i love all the characters. There was also alot of action in this book.

Again I am so sorry !
I haven't spent any time scouting out books. At this point I'll probably just wait until the song is called. Well I did look up the songs and writers and years and stuff. I just didn't try much to find books to match.
just had a panic attack!! I thought I missed the pick for this week!!! lol it's only Sat...so I can sleep now! whew...crisis averted :)
Fitting as that song has been stuck in my head since the list came out. I'll post when I decide on a book.
This looks good and my library has the audio available for immediate download. Fits setting and name: Plus gives me the word Paradise for my mystery puzzle challenge.
Where is everyone? I'm actually almost finished with my book. I have the day off and am catching up on housework. It's very good.
Mary: paperbackswap refuge wrote: "There's already a team done."well..I've been working :( not that I'd have finished by today anyway...I hope everyone else is ok this week :)
ok...does this work? An Heiress at Heart..Love's Grace is the series name. if not I'll read Ostland by David Thomas or L'Affaire by Diane Johnson it's only 5 points ;(
Catherine wrote: "one more question....can WWII be construed as Armegeddon? because it was horrific...."Catherine, I'll check with the other Mods.
I wasn't complaining that we weren't done yet. Just marveling that there was already a team done. I'm only almost finished because I had the Monday holiday off and a whole lot of housework to do.
Honestly some of these teams are insane. They probably think we're insane laid back but I honestly am amazed at how fast some of them whip through it. I hope they are still having fun with it.Sorry for being late to check in again. Figuring out a book for this one was really a challenge.
I'm going to go with
It's from 1998 and has Miss in the title, so 10 points.
Catherine wrote: "one more question....can WWII be construed as Armegeddon? because it was horrific...."Sorry, Catherine. While it was horrific, war time plot-lines and Armageddon plot lines are different. There are plenty of Armageddon books out there, so we're sure you'll find one.
Catherine wrote: "ok...does this work? An Heiress at Heart..Love's Grace is the series name."Another sorry, Catherine. We are NOT accepting "Grace" in the Series Name.
I do like it better already actually :) The very beginning was just a little... in your face. Oh look over there!!! That guy is going to start courting you!! Don't actually look at him!!

oh...all right :( guess I'll live with your decision....*grumble, grumble*

This was really good. I was disappointed that it was in 1st person because I really prefer 3rd but still really enjoyed the book. This one has a twist at the end. You think it's all wrapped up but then there's still quite a bit of book left. It dragged for just a bit when he's just reading some whack-job's diary. But then the twist is brought in and I have to admit, veteran mystery read that I am, I did not see it coming.

This one was good. It was about A young child rescued from the streets to go to battle school. The battle school is to help save the world from the "buggers". This one did have a lot of exciting scenes but did drag in the middle. However will look into the next one in the series.

I am trying hard to finish mine by midnight. Sorry I am slow this week :/I am also actually wondering if it is possible to get a substitute for me for next week only? I am actually moving next Friday and given how bad this week has been, I can only imagine next week will be worse, and I unfortunately don't see much reading happening. I do truly want to continue with the game/team after next week though if possible.
Kate wrote: "I am also actually wondering if it is possible to get a substitute for me for next week only?"Sure, Kate. Not to worry. We've got back-ups.
FYI: We shot off a message to Lizz asking if she's interested in being a replacement player.Kate, do you need her for just Week #5? Or #6, too?
