Review: this is a quirky story. I love how Brit romance novels have more than one story going at the same time..and they converge into one. This starts out on the day of an avalanche....which is thoughtto hvebeen caused by low flying American planes....but somehow this disaster brings all these strangers together.

Just next week, week #5. I should be back and good to go for week #6 :) Thanks for stepping in Lizz!!

I did enjoy the romance in this book, but a few things prevented me from rating it higher. First, there is really A LOT in the book about farming. You will actually learn all about cotton and rice planting and how to raise various animals on a farm. Honestly, I don't need to know this stuff to enjoy a romance and to the contrary I felt it detracted a bit. Second, it was just a bit over my cheesy everything works out perfectly yaaaay threshold. With that said I did enjoy it and if I had a had copy I'd pass it onto a friend without hesitation.
It's from 1998 and has Miss in the title, so 10 points.
I was writing the review where I marked it as read literally as you were posting that. If you check now it should be there. :)
I haven't been able to even look at the new song options. I have a lot of homework to tonight. (just taking a little break) I might be just waiting until the song is called and see what others are suggesting this week. Unless I have some time tomorrow.
Wow all the teams are quiet. There's usually some chatter about book ideas by now. I haven't even looked at the song list yet and this point, since it will be called soon anyway, I'm just going to wait. Hopefully it will be something I can work with.
Yes, we Mods were talking and we don't think we've ever had a DP this quite, or one where most Teams are done way before the deadline. Interesting.
Hmm. Never heard of that song before. But the Ireland or 2013 setting is certainly doable. I'd read the 3rd book in the County Cork series but none of the names match any of the series regulars. So might look for the 2013 option and see if I can match a name. I started 2 stressful classes this week so I might be slow this week too unless I can find a not too long audio.
Well, nothing on hand that gives more than just year. Plus those are ones I'm kind of trying to save for the Bookshelf Bingo game in another group. I do have this which gives name through the author and year: Reclaimed: A Highland Historical Trilogy. But I'm going to keep my eye for an audio.
question...
just came out this month...I didn't go through the entire "Irish" list...but the others from the series are on it...can I count it as from there?also...you don't have Title in categories...are we foregoing that?
But my library does have this which has name and year:
I checked it out but not sure if that's what I'm going with yet.

No, we take title! Did we really miss title in the cheat sheet? Eeeep

Macayla is trying to save Ireland from being overrun by the fae...but if it doesn't work...that's ok...
do re-reads count as well?

Yes re-reads are allowed if you've read it more than 6 months ago.
I can't see a connection to the song but let the mods discuss it and we'll get back to you.
I wish there was a way to search an author's books by character name. Most, if not all, of Maeve Binchy's books were set in Ireland. There's probably at least one with an Andrew or one of the other names but I can't find one just taking a cursory look at some titles.

it should also work for shelf...
Oh this, looks a main character is named Rob and it's set in Ireland:
I've been wanting to read this. My library is showing that I they have the audio CDs and if I can get there tomorrow I will read that. Unfortunately the ebook version has a wait list. But maybe I can send a sample to my Kindle and start it today.
The ebook waitlists for some books at my library are truly shocking so I feel your pain. I am literally number 500 something on one waitlist and number 300 something on another. It is so frustrating.
I haven't come across one that long before. I think the longest I've waited in line for one is a couple of months. The wait list for this one happens to be long at all 3 of my ebook libraries. (I bought out of state cards for Brooklyn and Phildelphia). It's 22 at my local library, 83 at BPL and 51 at FLP.
Hopefully no one will check out the local copy before I can go on my lunch break. I have holds waiting for me there and need to go anyway.

oh...ok...I didn't see it there..I went all the way to page 20....guess I missed it
Hmm. Really tempted to buy myself an ebook for my birthday, which is this Wed. Works for year and name and I love Ilona Andrews. It's also got a cheap audible upgrade. But it's a little over my limit for a 200 page book. None of my libraries has it though.Thinking...,

(I..."Yeah in fairness these are 'hot' books right now- 'The Girl on the Train' and "all the light we cannot see" (that was the 500+ waitlist but now I'm 492- DC's library has 150 ecopies lol. To be totally honest before I saw these hold lists I had no idea that many people still even use the library!!
Mary: paperbackswap refuge wrote: "I wish there was a way to search an author's books by character name."Mary: PBSR, one of the things you could do is go to http://www.shelfari.com and search for the author, then look at which of her books you're interested in reading. Not all have a list of characters, but some do. I checked a few and didn't see any Andrew.
You can also check by character on this site, but that could be quick & easy -- or long and difficult. Just use:
www.shelfari.com/characters/andrewJust change the name after the last forward slash of the url, if you want to look for another. Unfortunately, you can't tell how big a part they have, or only select the genre.
Exactly, too much work. I picked up In The Woods from the library on my lunch break. I'll start it tonight. I have about 10 min left on another audio I want to finish first.
I'm not going to buy the other book yet. I have too many that I've already paid for going unread already.
I started In the Woods in the car while running my errands. I like it so far. Didn't realize it was 18 discs though. Might take me a little longer to get through this unless I get in house cleaning mode.
